Publisher's summary

Susan Michaels was once the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until a major scandal ruined her life and left her writing stories about alien babies and Elvis sightings. Life as she once knew it is over, or so she thinks until she gets a lead on the biggest story in town: The Seattle Slayer. She heads to the local animal shelter, expecting a tip on the latest rash of killings. Instead, she gets a story about the mayor feeding citizens to a ring of vampires. Yeah, just another day in her life.

Then she gets talked into adopting a cat she's allergic to. Her first thought is to neuter the cat. But when he turns out to be a gorgeous shapeshifting man who claims to be an immortal vampire slayer she thinks: not so fast. Next thought: seek professional help.

Susan doesn't know what to believe, but as she's drawn into a paranormal world, she comes to realize that the story that could bring her credibility is too unbelievable to expose. Now it's no longer a question of bringing the truth to her readers, it's a matter of saving lives and souls, and her only ally is a man she's allergic to.

In the world of the Dark-Hunters, it's always dangerous. But never more so than when one very human woman can shatter their entire world with just one story. The only question is...will she? Dark Side of the Moon is full of Sherrilyn Kenyon's trademark sexy humor and breathtaking imagination.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

Not narrated correctly

I'm very unhappy with the people who recorded this book! I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and have been listening to them and reading the books in between that are not on audible yet and I simply love this series, until this book... For one thing the narrator totally cut out the sex scenes and rushed through the book. These audible books are normally 10 hours long but this one is only 4 hours! I am thoroughly disappointed, because this one book could deter many readers from Kenyon when I think that this series is awesome. So if this is the first book of Kenyon's you have read, please do not be discouraged, download the first book of the series: Fantasy Lover, and keep reading, google the order of the books because its not correct here on audible and I know you'll enjoy Kenyon as much as I do.

Dark side of the Moon

Good book for a vamp series. Not too hard to follow. Great narrator.

I wish the book was longer 😪

I enjoyed the story line but I wish there was more. The performance was ok. I didn't like how she would forget to use Kale's accent when he was talking to Paul and on his phone call to Raven. Other than that it was ok.

Never read the book so...

Would you listen to Dark Side of the Moon again? Why?

Probably.

What did you like best about this story?

Was about another warehunter

Have you listened to any of Maggi-Meg Reed’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't remember.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not really, but because it was so short it only toke me the a little while because I lissien to them at work.

Any additional comments?

Ok here it is, I love the series...although sometimes I feel like the only guy that like's the dark hunter books although I just started lissing to them like a month or so ago because of the Chronicles of Nick. But I did like the store and did feel rused because of the "ABRIDGED" part and really wished it was unabridged so I can get the full story....it was kind of a let down for audible.com :/....maybe I will just order the CD off amazon. But other then the shortness, I loved it.

Action, Romance, Comedy....

I've read several of Ms. Kenyon's novels over the years. They're always enjoyable. This one in particular is full of action nearly from page one. My wife, who has not read any of them, was unfortunately a little lost at first as this really isn't a standalone novel but part of the series and there are lots of references to previous books and not enough background. Overall, a very enjoyable read...um, listen.

love Kenyon

First let me say I am a huge Kenyon fan. I love all of her book's. I love this one but when they abridged it they butchered this great book.

out of New Orleans

fun read
good story
lovable characters
and plenty of subplot for the returning fans without confusing a first time reader.

good weekend listen

this book had more potential, it started out great in my mind, good characters but the story never really turned into much. The scenarios were just a teeny bit predictable in my mind, but all in all it was enjoyable for a lazy sunday afternoon read.

So very disappointed

I bought this book not realizing it was the abridged version. Big mistake. I have read all of the Dark Hunter series and some major scenes have been cut, so sad. In addition to that I should have checked the narrator although good she just didn’t do this book justice. She either didn’t know that Nick was Cajun or didn’t know the dialect, also Ash and Sabotar well if you are familiar with the series you know they are bigger than life and she made them sound normal. Will never make this mistake again it was bad enough when Holter Graham left the series and Fred Berman took over. No more ranting just know if you purchase and know anything about the series it’s probably not what you’re expecting, my opinion, and the reason for my rating.

Dark Side of the Moon

This book is full of everything that a paranormal romance reader would love. A quirky, strong leading lady, a sexy, manly (though a little furry sometimes) leading man. Sherrilyn Kenyon does not disappoint. It’s a rollercoaster ride that was a bit of a nail bitter, but more than enjoyable. I can’t wait to go on it again.

Absolutely wonderful!!!

But then again, see for yourself I’m a huge, ENORMOUS fan, but even not for that it was a wonderful ride.
