Decent book

I liked this book. It kept my interest the whole time I listened. I did think the end had a bit much going on. I think it could have ended a chapter or two earlier. The end seems like the author tired to cram to much in. I always enjoy time travel novels and find that this one did a decent job without getting to technical.

She was awful! Way too slow and I mean way too slow. No reader has this bad slow pace.

what a waste of Brenda Joyce.

I enjoyed this book.

I guess I am in the minority of really enjoying this book. I normally listen to my books at 1.25x the normal speed. Claire was quite annoying most of the time, but who wouldn’t be in her shoes/boots. I also enjoyed listening to the narrator too. I have listened to a lot worse narrators. I am subscribed to the Romance Package, so it is definitely worth listening. Keep a very open mind and enjoy. I can’t wait to start the next book.

Good story......but

I don't usually make comments but felt I needed to share my opinon with those that have not heard this story yet. I really enjoyed the story but the narriator was not that good. If you will just hang in there you will not be disappointed.

Too much like Outlander

I first started listening to this book at the end of another book I had finished. It sounded very interesting and sexy. As I got into this story, it seemed more like something that I had read before. Outlander! Oh there's differences, but it's way to close. The female lead is named Clare!

opinion

This book would have been better if it were not drug out. In fact, sometimes it even bordered on boring. I love medieval, but it's been done better.

Fighting to finish it

Horrible horrible narrator Who spinds like she is On female viagra and benzodiazapin all the time - i understand why she choose to read like that given the storyline but i do not Think she does the book Any favors. I am Two hours from finishing the story as i write this review and i dont Think i will listen to the rest. The only Reason i listened so far is that i read this book a long time ago and also the rest of the series and remember it as being worth it once u get past the "i need sex to servive" Line - since the rest of the intriges and the magic World are interesting and if i remember correctly the stories get better. But since they are all interlaced i wanted to listen to this book too since the foundation for the other stories are described in this one. And oh joy there is a new narrator On the rest of the books! But my recommendation to u is: read the first book and Then u Can start listening to the rest if u are at least a little interested - and dont judge the entire series On the first book.

Light and Easy

The story is a good one, the characters appealed to me. The narrator, however, simply missed the mark. Like most romances, the emotion and/or sexual scenes can be either intense or corny, depending on how they are portrayed in your mind. When you have a narrator, you are kind of stuck with what you hear, and in most cases, when this narrator read intense emotion, it came off as fairly ridiculous, sort of like a farce of a soap opera, overly dramatic to the point that I had to laugh. Consequently, I had to work around the narrator to enjoy the book, but in the end, the story was worth it. Still, I hate to throw out the baby with the bathwater, so I only subtracted one star for the narration.

Whew!! Ladies - your heart will be pounding fast.

Get ready for some romance, Romance, ROMANCE. Remember the episode from Friends where Rachel and Monica teach Chandler the steps to enahance his lovemaking with his girlfriend? Where Monica uses a diagram and finishes with 7, 7, 777? Yep--that good.

narrator could be better

why did the hylanders voices sound slow, like they spoke in slow motion? Disturbing. but other than than that, it was a good story. Very sexually charged.
