Publisher's summary

All new from the number one New York Times best-selling author.

As brutal as the undead he hunted, Zacarias De La Cruz was a master executioner. Now his stark and savage journey has ended. For his brothers, Zacarias had walked to the edge of madness, but with centuries as a killing machine now left to the past and without a hunt to define him, Zacarias wonders, for the first time in his life, who he really is.

The answer awaits him back home, in Peru, in the betrayal of a woman who is readying her trap, in the vengeance of an old enemy, in the inevitable consequences of a bloody family legacy - and in the deliverance of a lifemate he never could have imagined...

The last De La Cruz brother!

Book 22: Zacarias De La Cruz & Marguarita Fernandez. The last DelaCruz brother meets his lifemate. Their "integration" takes an interesting twist with his darkness and Marguarita being unable to speak. Narration: don't know why Ryan is not credited- I like her as female. Bergman is just ok. Don't know who decided to alternate them reading chapters and acting all voices...?

What a GREAT story...

Christine Feehan does not failed to deliver in this wonderful story of Zacharias and Margarita. The only thing that could've made this better was if his brothers and lifemates would've been incorporated somehow. A great story!

The scary one finally falls.

Finally,Zacarius' story is told. I felt this was a little bit too long in the tooth, plot wise but still a good story. Margarita was the stronger character and a delight. Zacarius was still his arrogant self but Margarita was more than a match for him. If you are a true Feehan fan you will like this addition to the series.

Two Narrators Distracted from Story

I was initially happy to hear there would be two narrators. I naively thought she would do all of Margarita's lines/POV and he would do for Zacharias. Instead, they switched back and forth sometimes for no reason. That being said Dark Predator is one of my favorite books in the series. I love it.

Loved this story!

This is my 4th time listening to this story because I love it! Most of the story's of the Carpathians are about strong men and women. This is no different but it shows just how "strong" and wild Zacharais really is. Even when you think he's changed, his character holds true and there isn't a miraculous change that overcomes him. He doesn't suddenly become a nice, mild mannered person. I think I like that best. He stays rough and dominant and Margarita struggles to find him loveable at one point.
It's a great story and I adored the characters. The story never bored me, though there was quite a bit of soul searching involved and that usually has me fast forwarding through it. But
in this case, it was necessary for the development of the characters and story. And-it was key in understanding the darkness in Zacharais.
The narrators were amazing! So perfect and kept all the voices straight! It's so awesome to have the story read in his/her voice. Makes it so much more enjoyable. Kudos to them both!
I've either read or listened to the entire series as it stands right now but I always come back to this one.
Worth the credit. You won't be disappointed!

Voices

LOVED IT!!! But it would’ve been better that when the narrator was a man, the character(voice) of margarita would’ve been a woman and vive versa

Darker than Dark

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend listening to this story because it is a good segment in this series, but it is a little rough around the edges.

What did you like best about this story?

My favorite part is that Zacarias finally finds his lifemate even though he is really hard on her.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is when Zacarias's lifemate saves him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Darker than Dark, almost lost

Any additional comments?

Not one of my favorite stories in the series. I like Dark Peril and Dark Storm better.

Narrators did not perform a good story

While the story was well written, and awesome for any CF fan, the narrators did a terrible performance. Rather than the man performing all male voices, and the woman all female, they simply took turns. Both did a decent job at the voices they performed, but why they just took turns reading is beyond me. It had the potential to be a spectacular performance, and they ruined it.

Dark Predator

I was very disappointed by the narrators in this book. I disliked the fact that not only did the woman not read the women's parts, but the male did the same... taking turns in their narration.
As always, Christine Feehan was able to give us a well thought out story line and keep us interested in the book. I was sorry that Margarita did not get her voice back after conversion though, I thought she would.
