Publisher's summary

In the new novel by the number-one New York Times best-selling "queen of paranormal romance", a wounded warrior and a woman on the run find salvation, passion, and unimaginable danger in the ghostly darkness of the Carpathian Mountains.

He wasn't civilized or tame. He had his own code, and he lived by it.

Monk. Bounty hunter. Vampire slayer. Andre Boroi has spent centuries battling the undead, holding out against the dark with honor. But now, gravely wounded by master vampire Costin Popescu, Andre will be easy to track - his spilled blood marking the killing trail for Popescu and his hungry band of underlings. Andre's only chance is to disappear into the gray mist of the Carpathians. To wait. To hope.

She had a healing touch and a scent that was his lifeblood.

In the mountains in search of a precious crystal, geologist Teagan Joanes suddenly finds herself hunted by those she once trusted. Then she comes across the warrior - wounded, wanting, and irresistible. Andre has been craving her for an eternity: his lifemate. Her warmth envelops him. Her scent pulsates. And with every beat of her heart, Teagan surrenders to a passion she can't possibly comprehend.

Now they are bound by destiny, but is it enough to keep them safe from a stalking, relentless darkness that threatens to swallow them alive?

Dead...after all the series it's ,just gone. Sad.

I have read every book in this series. I feel sad to say that this story was repetitive in so many ways, taking up each hour, and putting me into a deep Carpathian sleep where my only hope is that the Author will be healed, inspired a new. How many times can you describe the same body parts? Hear the same plot, and hope for just some spark of interest?. I encourage readers to listen to her first books as they are still wondrous fun. This is so sad.I feel the loss. First time ever for me to say not worth the credit. Out of respect for all the many past wonders, I have not the heart to go into vast detail on how bad this story really is. It is time for me to move on.Face reality and Continue with other authors No more automatic buy. .I wish it could have been otherwise. Thanks for all the books I did so enjoy.

way too repetitive!

if this was the first book i read of Ms Feehans, it would have been the last and i would have missed some wonderful stories. this had a good potential story line but found myself fast forwarding. looking forward to seeing how Tegans abilities can change the war, be able to help the "monks" and Andres brothers. hopefully Ms. Feehans future books will once again have exciting adventures too. this book was just 90% gratuitous sex & gushing. I have waited so anxiously to be so dissapointed!

Very disappointing

I have read all the Carpathian books, Drake Sisters, am working on Sisters of the heart and started the Ghost Walker series. In other words, I am a great fan of Christine Feehan. This was the worse book I have read/listened to by her. The "heroine?" was ridiculous! She was supposedly, to hear her repeatedly stating, a highly intelegent, modern woman. Couldn't prove it by me. She was also supposed to be tiny, but the woman's voice made her sound like an Amazon. There really seemed to be no plot. You are fooled into believing a great gift is being found for the Carpathian race, but that was barely alluded to. Most of the book was what took place between the two main characters while they were in the cave, with a jaunt here or there outside. Boring and repetitive. After all the great stories before this, I was upset to waste a credit on this one. Sad. Hopefully, the future will show us more of the great writing I have come to expect from Ms Feehan. The male voice was well done, by the way. Didn't want to not give him credit.

Oh My

What disappointed you about Dark Ghost?

Tegan's reaction to everything. I kept thinking poor Andre to get stuck with such a confused life mate.

What was most disappointing about Christine Feehan’s story?

As I said, the female character really lacked in maturity, actually she was pretty irritating with the "me" "my" "modern woman" stuff.

Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross – was your favorite?

Andre, both readers are great, I really like the male and female combination since the Carpathian male voices would be pretty difficult for a woman to do and at times it is difficult for men to do women.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment, the Tegan character was too much to bear.

Any additional comments?

I have and will continue to enjoy Ms. Feehan's books save the Tegan characters for the waste basket.

worst book ever

I couldn't take it! I wish I could get a refund. most books take you to other places in your imagination, bring you to far away lands... this book was like being trapped in dark room with 2 mumbling idiots. I gave up at chapter 15.

An author too lazy to write now

This book is one loooong inner dialogue after another. That is almost entirely the whole book. There is no plot, no character development, no interesting dialogue, no real development of scenery or location. Just the heroine talking to herself. Peptalks, scolding, and a lot of gushing about how good looking the hero is.

This is the most boring book I have ever listened to. I got through it by fast forwarding. A lot. I kept hoping to get some more information or meet some secondary characters from the monastery. Aside from a blip of an appearance by one at the end, there was absolutely nothing to relieve the monotony. This book deserves a zero, but not an option.

I believe Ms. Feehan is allowed by her publisher to just write words now, however many she is under contract for. It appears to not matter what she writes, just that she does.

The performance was a little overwrought, but so was the writing, to an extreme degree. I think they did about as well as could be expected for the material they had. There was just nothing there to make it good.

Horrible. Absolutely Horrible

What would have made Dark Ghost better?

If Teagan would have just turned out not to be Andre's lifemate and would have been killed off. She is a whiny, no common sense, nitwit ( I hated her). Also, a lot LESS sex and more story line. What the heck has happened to Christine Feehan, because I feel like I have been listening to a 1970's/80's harlequin romance trash book from the dollar bin at some random store.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Who knows, but I'll probably read Dark Promises praying for a better story. If it's not better then I'm not sure I can continue with the series.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ?

I loved Phil Gigante's voice for the story, and normally I love Natalie's voice but this time it did not fit the character at all.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment, anger, and resentment with the writer (yes I hated the book that much).

Any additional comments?

Please for the love of goodness someone tell Christine Feehan that she is killing her reputation as a good author. Between this trash and Spider Game I'm about ready to throw in the towel.

Time to stop writing this series

The last 3 books have been nothing but erotica. The earlier books had great story lines, character interaction and were fun to read. The new ones have nothing but explicit sex. I'm done. I won't be reading any more of these books.
