Publisher's summary

Zarek's Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

"In turns angst-filled and laugh-out-loud funny, her latest once again delivers a sensual, fast-paced read with a hero who is definitely worth the risk." ( Booklist)

Yeah!! Zarek on Audible!!!!

This was my favorite Dark-Hunter book.....well besides ACHERON!! Zarek's story was moving and well.......I am not going to give the story away by saying anything about the plot. The reader, Fred Berman was really good. His voice, to me, is like Holter Graham's, is easy to listen to and I love that he gave Zarek the accent.I am a big fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and I hope to see more of her book in the audio format on Audible. She is one of my "Escape" authors. You pretty much know there will be a happily ever after. It's the journey to that point that is the ride!!

Dance With the Devil

At long last, Zarek's story is on audible! This is my favorite book in the Dark Hunter series--followed closely by Acheron. The plot drew me in immediately and even though I've read this book several times, Fred Berman's narration added depth and emotion. I must admit to feeling an innitial stab of disappointment when I discovered that Holter Graham wasn't reading Zarek's story, However within minutes, Fred Berman made me forget all my objections. Not only does he give Zarek a rather sexy accent, but his emotional and intense naration brought the characters to life.
Zarek is the quintessential dark and tortured hero and Astrid's strength and courage are the perfect complement. Zarek's story touched my romantic's heart.

What a hunk!

If you are looking for action with your romance Sherrilyn Kenyon never disappoints! This book does have a lot of action but a large majority of it takes place in a small cabin in the Alaskan wilderness. Zaric has had a very hard life. He has been a whipping boy, slave, and dark hunter in different phases of his life. He is very bitter and fear by all other people. I have always imagined his a wild animal. Like a panther that everyone fears because your not quite sure what it will do. This is Zaric. He just needs the right girl to open his emotions and let him see that he deserves love and can learn to love others again as well. I love this book, I read it many times and am now grateful to have it in my audio book collection as well.

ZAREK my poor lost Zarek

Zarek's book has finally come to audible with a bang if you must know my opinion. In the world of Sherilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter's I have enjoyed almost all of the stories, but Zarek's beyond all touched my heart and tore at me in ways that made me cry like a hurt child with Zarek. He introduced in another of the books Talon's story, but we are given a view that doesn't share much.
In this we are given the pure torment Zarek faces on a day by day basis his life has been a series of tortures and you feel them as no other.
I feel that this is one if not the best book in the series. The last few have left a lot to be desired in the fact that they have fallen from Dark Hunter universe. This was still true Dark Hunter at it's best. Zarek is flawed and tormented but his anger has a point he even says it at one point you can only a beat a dog so many times. He's vicious but with purpose we come to know so much of what made him what he is. And I hope Audible gets Valerius story next because it has Zarek in it and I loved it too. Personally, out of the entire series the first 9 or 10 books may be my faves. But ZAREK wins it for me in the end:)

EXCRUTIATING

Im a man and when i say a man im a tuff man. But even I could not stop the tears that escaped my eyes. it was beyond my control. It is a very good written book. And the narrated does a very good job with the accent and sincere heart he put in it. I really recomend it.

Heart-Wrenching

One of the most heartrending stories I've ever read. I simply could not stop listening. I found myself driving around aimlessly (since I listen in my car) only to keep the story going. I also sat in several parking lots, just listening. In printed form, it would have been one of those I couldn't put down until I finished.

By the way, Fred Berman brought the story alive with his excellent interpretation.
