Publisher's summary

When Nell Channing arrives on charming Three Sisters Island, she believes that she's finally found refuge from her abusive husband - and from the terrifying life she fled so desperately eight months ago.

But even in this quiet, peaceful place, Nell never feels entirely at ease. Careful to conceal her true identity, she takes a job as a cook at the local bookstore café - and begins to explore her feelings for the island sheriff, Zack Todd.

But there is a part of herself she can never reveal to him - for she must continue to guard her secrets if she wants to keep the past at bay. One careless word, one misplaced confidence, and the new life she's so carefully created could shatter completely.

Just as Nell starts to wonder if she'll ever be able to break free of her fear, she realizes that the island suffers from a terrible curse - one that can only be broken by the descendants of the Three Sisters, the witches who settled the island back in 1692.

Now, with the help of two other strong, gifted women - and the nightmares of the past haunting her every step - she must find the power to save her home, her love...and herself.

Keeps you coming back for more.

I love this series, I have read in paperback and have listened to these audiobooks at least a half dozen times since they were written. They are very sweet and exciting and suspenseful and never fail to make me feel good. I enjoy this narrator and have purposefully bought other books that have been read by her. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I have.

Great story

This certainly met my expectations. One of my favorite parts of was when Nell told Zach she would do whatever it took to become His wife.

Nora Robert has written another great story.

Excellent story

The story held my attention throughout. The characters were believable and personable. The narrator was excellent. The writer is brilliant and creative. She was able to create images in the mind, with the narrator brought them to life. Where is 3 Sisters again? I am ready to go!

Favorite of Nora's books

My introduction to Nora Roberts' books many years ago, found at a hospital book sale for less than a dollar. I have re-read the series so many times over the years. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the performance. I do listen to the audio version mulltiple times, but only because love the story, not for the performance.

Refreshing, sweet read

Nora Roberts is always a refreshing read. It had been a while since I had read one of her books and this was a great one to read. So good that I've already got the second book in the series.

Enjoyed it

I am overall a Nora fan - and this book didn't disappoint. It wasn't my favourite, but it was well worth my credit. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Love this trilogy!

Frankly, I'm not a huge fan of Nora Roberts. I don't usually go for romances, especially cheesy gushy ones like hers. Yet for some reason I am absolutely addicted to this series. I picked up the second one in a hospital waiting room years ago, and I had to run out and buy all three of them afterward! I bought the audio-books on cd a while back, but I didn't realize they were abridged until it was too late. Since I still listen to them and/or read the books once a year or so, I decided to invest in the unabridged versions. The characters are very engaging, and the storyline is exciting. If you like romances, or even if you don't, this trilogy is a great buy!
