A new adult romance novel by New York Times and USA Today best-selling author H.M. Ward.
Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It's never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn't even the right word. Peter is the personification of perfection. It's like he fell off his angel perch in purgatory, because let's face it - any guy that hot has got to be naughty. He was probably sent here to ruin her life.
Peter is beyond beautiful with his sexy blue eyes, dark hair, and toned body. Add in his charming wit and Peter is everything Sidney ever wanted in a man, but when things get hot and heavy Peter shows her the door. Sidney takes the walk of shame and leaves. It's the end of the worst blind date ever. Her life couldn't possibly reach higher levels of suckage, but it does. The next morning everything comes crashing down. The insanely hot guy from last night, the one that saw her half naked, is teaching at the front of the class room.

The narrator! The story was not so bad but the narrator ruined it. She sounds like she has no experience. It seems like she is a poor actor. She tries to get into the story but really does a poor job with the characters. It is like the old canned laughter from a Dick Van Dyke show. I am not good at writing reviews but I had to review this one because I would hate for another mature adult to waste their credit. This book should be written and reviewed as a book for a 12 year old except it has content that is not suitable for that age. Hate it. Cannot finish it!
Make the characters sound more sincere and mature. Instead they remind you of 12 year olds with a crush on a teacher except there is sexual content not appropriate for that age..
She sounds like she is reading a script, not getting into the characters, irritating voice!
It did not have a bad basic story, just very predictable and really only fit for a teenager to read (without the sexual content) . A mature reader will get bored.
Get rid of the Narrator!
For as much as I read and listen you would think by now that I would know how to spell lol. I read at least 5 books a week there are times I have gotten up to 10 in a week.
If there was mention before I started to read this book that it is ( or at least) will be a series. I hate cliff hangers! And if that happened to be the end of the book it sucked!
She was okay. I suppose I would if it was a book I really wanted. I would not go out of my way to look for one by her though.
There is lots of drama in this book. That my be a redeeming quality to some.
I got this book for free on kindle and it started off with a bang and grabbed my attention but since I couldn't stay seating down I thought I buy the audio version......I should of stuck with the free kindle. The story was good for what it was. Just not my usual type thing and not something that I would of chosen to spend money/credit on. Then the end is so abrupt. I was like WTH! So I went to amazon and read reviews for this lady and she is known to have huge cliff hangers and series dealing with the same 2 people over and over threw out the coming books. So I can only conclude that there will be book 2 even though I could not find any mention of it. SO if you love cliff hangers go for it, if not wait and see if more books comes out. The ending will really P*** you off.
I like this story. It was nothing shocking but kept you interested. It is a nice easy listen. I cannot say that I was wowed by it but I did get the next book to see what happens. I would buy this one but would save my credit for something great.
I found that the characters weren't really believable. The reader puts in time to get to know the characters but then it ends too abruptly. There's no character assessment but for less than a few minutes at the end. My biggest complaint would be that i felt it ended too soon. There's no closure that we hear/read about. I thought something happened to my app and that i had missed an epilogue or last chapter. Biggest disappointment, ever. After revealing what damaged the character, that's it...really?!?!!
I think the narrator was too bold of a selection for the "voice" of this character. It made it hard to believe that this character had any vulnerability.
No. The author needs to add another chapter or two...or even three or four to this book for that to make it happen.
I've read and listened to better books. Cora Carmack's "Losing it" was a much better read about a similar situation with the characters. it was also better written and resolved. wished this had been on sale when i got it. I feel like it was a waste of a credit.
I purchased this book because of the high ratings - but that was not a good indicator, it seems. This book sounded like a high school heartbreak; only the prom king and queen were missing. It was further insulted by a narrator that would be better suited reading children's books. I do not recommend it!!! (I would have given ZERO stars if that were an option)
Love listening to books while siting at my desk doing data entry
I have read the book and was excited about the audio version. Until I heard it. So disappointed.
Her voice did not fit the characters and made the girls sound dingy and wittless.
I read the ebook plus listened to the audio. I'm a big fan of audios. I feel like I get more out of listening than reading. I really enjoyed this audio.
Two damaged people coming together like soul mates.
I thought she did a great job with both Peter's voice and Sidney's voice.
After she is attacked by her ex-boyfriend......the way he takes care of her as if she's the most precious thing in the world.
Can't wait for Damaged 2.
The storyline starts to feel a little cliché. The interesting characters draws you in, though, and has you rooting for them in spite of the cliché present.
Yes. I found myself wanting to find out what happened next to see how the problem would be resolved. It kept my interest and I really enjoyed the romance.
I am so disappointed with this book.. I was tiptoeing around this book for a long time and decided to give it a shot, after all there was a couple of 5 stars, I thought it wouldnt be that bad... Trust me, it was baaad.. I struggled to listen to this book and up to this stage, I have a little bit over 1 hour to go but I just could not get myself to listen to it anymore... The narrator was ridiculously terrible. I wanted to pull all my hairs out as well as poke my eyes out listening to her.. The storyline was stupid.. These characters were supposed to be smart people right, well, they both sounded pretty stupid to me!!! Im so upset that i felt like I was tricked into getting this book but unfortunately, I acted exacltly like the characters in this book, I was stupid because I ultimately clicked the "complete purchase" button.. To top it all off, I also bought the second book because I didn't want to be left "hanging" because I know that the story continues straight onto the second book.. MORE FOOL ME!!! Maybe I will listen to the second book when I run out of money to buy credit and I get really desperate. I know that "apparently", the second book is better, but I will just wait until the bleeding in my ears stops because of this book..
SORRY BUT DO NOT WASTE YOUR CREDIT!!!
I read the book first, loved the book. I got this on audible so I could listen to it on my way to work. The narrator sounds too young and makes the characters sound like they are teens. I couldn't listen to it after the first chapter. Read the book, gave it 5 Stars!
Their encounter in the restaurant. It was so natural.
