Publisher's summary

Count your blessings; they can be snatched away in an instant. It is a sentiment Milla Edge knows too well. With an astonishing blend of savvy, instinct, and passion, Milla displays an uncanny gift for finding lost children. When all seems helpless, desperate souls from across the country come to her for hope and results. Driven by an obsessive desire to fill the void in other people's lives, Milla throws herself into every case - all the while trying to outrun the brutal emotions stemming from a horrific tragedy in her past.

Traveling to a small village in Mexico on a reliable tip, Milla begins to uncover the dire fate of countless children who have disappeared over the years in the labyrinth of a sinister baby-smuggling ring. The key to nailing down the organization may rest with an elusive one-eyed man. To find him, Milla joins forces with James Diaz, a suspicious stranger, known as the Tracker, who conceals his own sinister agenda.

As the search intensifies, the mission becomes more treacherous. For the ring is part of something far larger and more dangerous, reaching the highest echelons of power and influence. Caught between growing passion and imminent peril, Milla suddenly finds herself the hunted - in the crosshairs of an invisible, lethal assassin who aims to silence her permanently.

Compelling characters and well developed plot

Would you listen to Cry No More again? Why?

yes. I felt so much empathy with the main character, even though I'd never had any similar experience. The writing drew me in and had me fully invested in the Milla's journey. The powerful emotions of the characters start to become your own, and each chapter should come with a tissue warning.

What did you like best about this story?

How the individual who was initially targeted as the bad guy, came through the story as a hero. I liked how she twisted the characters - the good become bad, and the dark, scary bad boy isn't so scary after all.

Which character – as performed by Joyce Bean – was your favorite?

Diaz.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Milla thought that Diaz was opposing her plans to meet with Justin's parents. I loved his response to what Milla did there and how he helped her recover.

Any additional comments?

Excellent story, wonderfully crafted characters and plot. Great twists that keep you hanging onto the edge of your seat.

Just 1 little sticking point for me

I did like the narration, story and the ending, but there is one little sticking point that is a stretch. If the adoptive parents didn't "buy" the child then how did the smuggling ring get its money. If it was a "normal" adoption then there wouldn't have been an "exorbitant" fee. It gets a little contradictory. Otherwise I did enjoy the book although it did seem a bit slow to start.

lovely story

It seems like Linda Howard is very hit and miss for me, but I loved this book. the story was engaging and entertaining. there was lots more potential for suspense, and it was pretty clear who the bad guys were from the get go.. but regardless the story was really intriguing with a twist or two in there.

Sometimes sad but very good book I really enjoyed it. Mexico is much more dangerous now.... not that it was safe than. Stealing Babies and Stabing their Mothers. Selling kids & Organs & all that really happens. It's creepy but makes a good story. Enjoyed the Book.

Cry No More

For a book named “Cry No More”, it’s ironic that it makes me cry every time I read/listen to it! This isn’t one of my favorite LH stories, but it is still very good. I never like when there is an easy reconciliation between the H&h, especially when he did something so terrible. I always want the H to suffer/grovel more, lol. Other than that, I would recommend this book to anyone, it is well worth the credit.

Awfully Sad, But Interesting Story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Ummm probably not. I wouldn't recommend it because it wasn't a fast paced eye catcher. I didn't feel super engrossed in it. It felt like a book I could pick up once a month when I'm taking a train somewhere.

Would you recommend Cry No More to your friends? Why or why not?

I just answered this question above.

Which scene was your favorite?

Thats a tough one. Can't really put my finger on it.

Was Cry No More worth the listening time?

Ummm, I felt like the book could have ended way before it did. There were some pretty drawn out parts that I think were a bit unnecessary. However, it was still a decent read.

Any additional comments?

Please don't let my comments deter you. If you catch the book on sale, then you did good but I wouldn't pay regular price for it. I just wish it could have been a bit better, but it is what it is. Oh and the narrator is pretty good!
