Publisher's summary

Mark Beale and several of his brothers from SEAL Team 3 board a cruise ship to bury a fallen buddy's ashes at sea. A risky affair with a beautiful Italian the night before they leave begins to ease his survivor's guilt.

Sophia Negri, suffering jitters over her engagement, falls for the handsome SEAL and pretends she speaks no English, letting their bodies do the talking. When Marc finds her on the ship and learns Sophia is half American, he is angry at first, but falls for her all over again as they set sail.

Terrorists take over the ship and hold the passengers for ransom, Mark and the other SEALs are the only ones who can stop the plot. Will Marc's actions be enough to save Sophia or will he have to sacrifice himself to save the woman he loves?

Nice twist on the Cruise ship

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Things between Mark and Sophie start out as anonymously as a relationship can. Cruise time comes and they find themselves on the same ship but things become a bit complicated with Sophie's past and present relationship status.

We get to see what SEAL's do when not on duty and if duty comes to them how they handle it. I love all the characters in this book and like to keep up with them in other books.

Which character – as performed by J. D. Hart – was your favorite?

Kyle seems to be his strongest character. He did fine with Mark, but he seems to identify more with Kyle.

Any additional comments?

My only problem is the narrator, He is better in this book than he has been but he is still very dry and just doesn't have the best bedroom voice..

A Sea full of Trouble!

What did you like best about this story?

WHAT A VACATION........ Only SEALs have that kind of luck....

Dear lord these boys find themselves in more trouble than a whore on a Saturday night... I mean who goes on vacation with his buds, to foreign lands to spend the last free weeks he has only to be side tracked by a hot woman, have a night that rocked his world only to find her on the ship he was on... then has to leave her cause they are taken under fire? A effing SEAL. Who knew?

But seriously the ACTION in this story was awesome!!! I meant the action out side the bedroom you dirty, dirty people... though the other was kinda hot too... You also get a more laid back look at our favorite SEAL buds. The frogs get to toss on their shades, Hawaiian shirts (figuratively speaking) and have fun with their girls. Marc is feeling the loss of Sophie still so he is out on the town in Italy just roaming. But when he stops at a little coffee shop he meets a pretty redhead that not only rocks his socks off but turns up on the ship with him and the team.

They have a connection that is not unlike the other men feel for their woman. Marc just knows there is something special about this girl. And their love affair starts. Now, you know Sharon tosses the drama in there and OMG it was just the right kind. Another man wants Sophia, Marc's new spitfire. So needless to say, that stuff didn't fly. Ha. These boys are like pit bulls with bones. You won't get it if they have a hold of it. No need to even try.

As their cruise gets under way from the coast of Africa Marc overhears a conversation that sets all of his SEAL instincts into high gear. Red Alert time. Once the team has been informed the men split up and start looking for clues, trying to figure out what in the name of all that is Holy is going on. When the ship is taken over by outside forces its up to the SEALs to save the 3200+ passengers and crew on board. Can 8 men against.. god only knows how many make a difference? Hells to the yes! With the help of crew members, and two unlikely hero's, Gina and Marc's girl Sophia they rock it out. Taking back control. Taking down the bad men and literally saving them from going up in smoke.

There are aspects of this story that reminded me of Under Siege, Speed 2, and Snakes on a Plane... I kid you not. Simply amazing! I was laughing a few times when I am sure it would have been frowned upon if it were taking place before me but.. really.. I was picturing this play out in my head.. and it was just funny.

"Best effin vacation of my entire life." ~ Kyle > That sums it up for ya peeps... this story is effing cray cray on a cracker!! I loved it.

Cruise Ships and Pirates!

I have listened to all of the books in this series and have enjoyed them. I like Sharon Hamilton's Seal's!

There is never a dull moment when these guys are around! I am a huge action and romance junkie, so I love this series.

J. D. Hart's narration has never disappointed in this series including this book.

Although this is not my favorite in the series, I did enjoy the character updates.

"Do cobras climb..."

Again, my second time around with this audiobook. I loved Marc in SEAL THE DEAL and was so glad to see Sharon didn’t make me wait to find out what happened to this amazing warrior.

This book is about Mark and Sophia’s journey to happy ever after. A lot of action in this one and a lot of interaction of the other seals and their wives. Finally we get some happiness for Fredo but I want give any spoilers you’ll have to find out for yourself but it is steamy sweet!

There are many different characters in this one and JD does another amazing job in bringing them all to life. I don’t think any other narrator will ever do for Sharon’s books. JD does such a good job I sometimes think that Sharon has him in mind when she writes. They are perfectly harmonised.

An incredibly strong love unexpected love turns up for Marc and he so deserves it. I love this guy, he’s so tender, passionate and hot, who wouldn’t love a guy like that. This series just continues to be amazing.

I have to mention a sentence COOP says which is so funny but to appreciate it you’ll have to read/listen to it in context; COOP: “Do cobras climb trees?” lol

There were a couple of problems with the recording jumping in Chapter 27 at the following minutes:-
4:18-4:22; 4:54-4:56; 14:48-14:52; and 17:56-18:03 but aside from that IT WAS WONDERFUL!

Take a Cruise with SEAL Team 3

Any additional comments?

I will admit, I had a hard time with this book at first. I did not like Sophia at all! I felt she was all wrong for Mark. I also felt as if he was cheating on Sophie's memory and jumped in way too soon with Sophia. Also, the names Sophia and Sophie were too close to me and made me feel as if he was using one for the other.I would have much preferred had Sophie from Nick's book to have survived her cancer and been Marks HEA. I think Mark fell too hard and too fast for Sophia and it just didn't seem believable (esp. after he stressed his feelings of loss of Sophie)It wasn't until about half way through that I started to warm up to Sophia. I can not say that I fell in love with her. It was more of a case of tolerate her. Now Mark on the other hand, I loved his character in the previous book and loved him here as well, but again, his falling so hard and fast just did not seem believable. He followed Sophia around like a horn dog after a female in heat. At least he came to his senses for a bit when he found out Sophia was engaged. (You'll have to read the story to find out all about that).Anyway, this was written as a multi pov....and when I say multi, I mean MULTI....we had Mark, Sophia, Max, Kyle, etc. etc. etc.One thing I did truly love about this book was that it had all the characters from the previous books locked up in one location. So we got to see how things are progressing basically with everyone. It helped to tie everyone in. The whole concept for the most part was pretty good. The whole dancing thing though could have been left out. To me, it was just filler and not needed. I think there could have been a different way the characters could have been integrated into the storyline. All in all, a good storyline concept. The dialogue between characters was fantastic as always. No heart twinge moments but I did have a chuckle or two. Was also sad to see the passing of a beloved character. The descriptions to details were done well. This can be read as a stand alone.Would I recommend this book? YesWould I read more from this author? YesSassy Beta Reading & Review

Vacation from Heaven & Hell

Somehow I don't think "adorable" is what Ms. Hamilton is looking for, but this one is. Who wouldn't swoon over a googly-eyed SEAL? Of course there's plenty of bad-a**ery included, but Mark is lost over his girl from minute one. This is probably one of my favorite Sharon Hamilton books, and I hope they have a followup one day.
Thank you for another great book!

Another Knockout Combination!

Cruisin' for a Seal is perhaps the most intense book I've read(rather listened to) in a long book. I think that listening to it perhaps made it a bit more intense than reading it, as instead of flipping pages I was trying to will it to hurry up. Of course, that made it similar to a movie, as opposed to a novel.

The story itself was something that I could see being made in a movie as well, just the plot in general with the excitement that happens later in the novel (or at least in the audio portion). The other part of this novel that I really enjoyed, were the characters. The main male character, the hero, Mark is depressed, and in a total abyss with what seems like no way out after the death of a woman he believes is his soul mate. But the introduction of an Italian woman helps to bring him out of it, only she's not TRULY what she seems. Which is a nice twist for the story in general.

To me, the combination of Hart and Hamilton is a knockout combination. The story is good, and the narration helps to bring the suspense and bring it home. I am falling in love with the voice of Mr. Hart AND with the writing of Ms. Hamilton.

It may be me but every other book is good...

I can see this being a good story and there's lot of potential but what's with strong but wear heroine! These guys deserve so much better, especially in this story! I don't know about this series... I've started and will still continue with it.

A rollercoaster cruise ride

I enjoyed the ebook of this story and again, the audiobook truly brought it to live. So much so that after taking 38 ocean, sea and river cruises, this reader was happy not to be on this one !!
Though the story centers on Navy SEAL Mark Beale, those that have read the previous stories in the series will be in for a treat.
On board are the SEALs from the previous stories with their significant others and possible love interest in future books.
Mark is still mourning the death Sophie, the sister of one of his SEAL brothers. Prior to going on board, he meets Sophia Negri in Savona, Italy. A “one afternoon stand” that starts to heal him, leaves him wanting for more. Imagine his surprise when he sees his mystery lady on board the ship.
But she’s committed to someone in Brazil, working on the ship and the possibility of having a chance with her is non-existent.
But what happens when danger surrounds them on board? Can Mark and the SEALs keep everyone safe? Will he get a chance with Sophia?
Once again, JD Hart excels in his narrative and helps us to enjoy another entertaining story in this series.

Love me a Seal!

Would you consider the audio edition of Cruisin' for a SEAL to be better than the print version?

Mark is Hot, sexy, you can tell you would want to be Sophia. She won his heart not just his lust. He loves her. Story is wonderful and the sex is very nice! The narrating adds extra sexy to it. Love this. I have the book but the Audio is better!!!

What other book might you compare Cruisin' for a SEAL to and why?

I don't know, this is different,

What does J. D. Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Breathes life into it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

oh yes for sure!

Any additional comments?
