Publisher's summary

Emma decided long ago that she was going to marry Isaac Stoltzfus. Since she was 10, she'd dreamt of being Isaac's wife, of fixing up a small farmhouse, of raising boppli together. But now Isaac's Rumschpringe has introduced him to new ways - and, much to Emma's dismay, Isaac seems to be enjoying them. Is the man Emma now sees in Isaac the same man she fell in love with all those years ago? He seems more like a stranger who wears jeans and a short haircut and listens to rock music. He has moved out of his parents' home, gotten a job, and, worse, wants Emma to join him in the Englisch world. How can she possibly leave behind her family, her friends, her church - and all the dreams she once had for her future with Isaac? But if she loves him, how can she not? Emma is at a crossroads. And her decision will change her life forever.

Interesting story.

I enjoyed the story but very stubborn women who shouldn't be so quick to judge others before they know the whole story .

So so

I didn’t care for how the narrator attempted to sound like the men in the book, especially the older men. Some of the women’s voices sounded a bit suggestive or sleezy. Story was ok

Loved the characters. Wholesome story. Narator bugs me a little with her voices ahe does for male characters. Otherwise good.

Great listen

I enjoyed listening to this story of Emma,Isaac and their community. I felt like I got to know many of the characters and this one felt more in a longer timeline to get to the ending than other amish books I have read.

Good continuation.

I read the first book and was cautious about this one. Would it be able to measure up to that? Well, it did and was just as compelling a read. I would recommend this book to anyone that read and enjoyed the first of the series.
