Publisher's summary

Bell Harbor is a one-million copy bestselling series.

If Sadie Turner is good at anything, it’s putting stuff in order. So when she finds her “perfect” life in disarray, she hopes a summer vacation at her aunt’s lake house will help her piece it back together. She wants to relax, reboot, and heal the wounds left by her cheating ex-husband. And that requires time away from men. All men.

Or so she thinks.

With two slobbering dogs and two cousins living there - one a flamboyant decorator intent on making over Sadie - it’s hard to get a moment’s peace at eccentric Aunt Dody’s house, especially with everyone so determined to set her up with Desmond, the sexy new neighbor.

Desmond is Sadie’s worst nightmare. Tall, tanned, muscular...and to top it off, he’s great with her kids. But he must have a flaw - he’s a man - so Sadie vows to keep her distance.

As summer blazes on, the life Sadie is trying so hard to simplify only becomes more complicated - a new career presents itself, her evil ex haunts her, and Aunt Dody reveals a tragic secret - but maybe a little chaos is just what Sadie needs to get her life back in order.

Bad narration

Narration was bad. Story line was ok but not well written. Used words like "lady parts".

Good story, annoying voices

I enjoyed the story but found a couple of the character voices over the top and increasingly distracting.

Just ok

The story was just ok. Too many times she tried to be cute or clever or funny, but it was kind of like using stale cliches.
The story tellers voice got on my nerves but by the time I was thoroughly annoyed I was far enough in that I wanted to see what happened. Her "voice" she used for Dody and Fontaine were obnoxious! Her intonation was just not right for a "love story" - it was more suited for a text book.
I might give Tracy Brogan another try but not with this narrator.

Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!

I have read this book 4 times now and I've loved it more every time! There's not many books that can make you smile and laugh and cry and get steamed up with the sexy parts. This one has it all!

Laughed out loud at times

It was a fun book. Sadie moves to Michigan to spend the summer with her aunt after her divorce. I loved aunt Dody. I wish I had someone just like her in my family. Sadie has sworn off men and after meeting her ex you can understand why. Of course she changes her mind when she meets the doctor next door.

I did enjoy the book but I did get a little frustrated with Sadie at times. Not every man is like her ex-husband.

Book great, Narrator not so great

I really hate to say anything critical about narrators, because I admire the work and talent that is required, but I struggled to continue listening to this book. Annoying is the word that suits best.
I love this author, and have enjoyed all of the several books that I have listened to or read. I highly recommend her.

Funny at Times Funny Voices

Loved the narrator’s voice and how the voices change with the characters of the book.

The person whom is reading has a pleasant voice and that’s important to me.

Good sedative

The book was cute but pretty shallow. Heroine has domineering mother and cheating husband. She goes to visit "quirky" relatives and finds herself.

Wish I had read it instead of listening to it

The story was great and injected humor which was perfect. The narrator did a good job with most characters but the voices she used for Dodie & Fontaine were like nails on a chalkboard. I wish I had read it instead of listening to it. Otherwise a fun book.

Not my best read.

Although a sweet story it moved very slow and I actually listened to a couple of other books before getting it completed. The reader used several voices and was talented but the voice of a main character was almost painful to hear.
