Publisher's summary

Seven deadly sins. Seven souls that must be saved. One more no-holds-barred battle between Jim Heron, a fallen angel with a hardened heart, and a demon with everything to lose.

Isaac Rothe is a black-ops soldier with a dark past and a grim future. The target of an assassin, he finds himself behind bars, his fate in the hands of his gorgeous public defender, Grier Childe. His hot attraction to her is a totally wrong-place-wrong-time kind of thing - and that’s before Jim Heron tells him his soul is in danger. Caught up in a wicked game with the demon who shadows Jim, Isaac must decide whether the soldier in him can believe that true love is the ultimate weapon against evil....

Great story definitely not for small ears

Great story line and the narrator really brought the story to life. There is a lot of sexual situations that would not be suitable for under teen aged. But over all it was a really great book

Love this Series!!!!

They just keep getting better. Cant wait to read the next one. In all these series, they leave you feeling better and wanting to be a better person. They make us remember what loves is all about and that its worth fighting for. Im ordering the 3rd book right now.

Doesn't flow very well

I loved Covet..I looked forward to this next book in the series. There was such a good flow and rhythm to Covet. I didn't find in this book, I have listened to it more than once because my first impressions are not always enduring. This book just doesn't bring you into it. It is ok if you want to read all the books in a series or you follow this author but I can't recommend it as a stand alone story. Good narration.

Hot, passionate, sexy and brilliant!

J.R. Ward your gift for spinning a tale is once again able to blow my mind! To have the perfect combination of hot and steamy mixed with a compelling good versus evil drama shows you have to have talent which is rare indeed. I have loved each story and can't wait for the next

The goodness and Jim

I love these books. I love the idea of heaven and fear the idea of hell. I am glad there are more of these books. I can’t wait to read the next one.

SO glad there will be 5 more!

J. R. Ward writes this genre so perfectly...the tone, the characters, the plot is so...masculine and so wonderfully male. I don't know how else to describe the writing. I actually had to go to the website to discover J.R. Ward's gender!

I loved the first book, Covet, and I am totally hooked on Jim Heron's mission, as well as his character. And what a great villian in that Devina! Wow! Love that shape shifting and stillettos.

Such a terrific plot with the angels, demons, souls and special-ops. So cool! I cannot wait until September!

Much better performance by the narrator

In this one, Eric Dove has improved. He still has a voice that sounds like a computer but he managed to infuse more life into the characters as he used various accents and intonations. I was able to completely "get" the characters and receive enjoyment from the listen.

The track J.R. Ward has taken with this series is good but she is still lacking some of the depth. The character development has improved but it would help to get more into the starring characters instead of the recurring characters. I don't mind a standalone story but it would help to massage the back stories of the highlighted characters with a bit more depth. I believe Jim and his crew are going to flesh out nicely if the trend continues with this series but again, I would like to connect a bit more with the starring characters as they play a role in the story with Jim.

I will continue with series and keep in mind that one of the later stories was a bit fast in narration so I'll have to slow down the speed on my MP3.

I CRAVE this series!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Okay, so reviews were right in relation to the first book; it took about a third of the book for me to feel invested and then I devoured the rest of Covet. The second book CRAVE was awesome as well and hit the ground running.
The BDB series is a hard one to compare and inevitably when an author has such a tremendous hit it’s hard to adjust, but don’t be afraid! I am LOVING where this series is going..... and the side characters , sub-plots etc are delicious!
The hero is still “Jim” and he’s still on course for the race as an Angel (Fallen or not?)
