Publisher's summary

Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about - his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charged with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins.

Vin diPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that - until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart - and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

it's amazing

What I loved? Everything! From the wonderful performance by Eric Dove, to the fast action, the fully fleshed out characters, and especially the four white-clothed ‘croquet-players’ (spoiler - but you will see what I mean!). However, most of all, I loved the transformation of the all the leads! Another series I fully intend to get caught up in! Bravo Ms. Ward life just gets better and better every time I pick up a new book or series by you!

The story was okay.....

The narrator did an excellent job. The storyline was okay, but it just wasn't what I was looking for.

Riveting

This is an incredible book. I thoroughly enjoyed this author, I usually don't go for this type of book. But this one really grabbed me. Great narrator also. I can't wait for the next in the series. Note: The language and the sex are graphic so if that bothers you this is not the book for you. Thank you J.R. Ward. Thank you Audible.

Enjoyable read

This book is action packed, with a nice steamy romance thrown in. I enjoyed the plot. The action was fast paced and I found it hard to wait to see what would happen next. The paranormal parts of the plot were understandable, tied closely to judeo-christian religious mythology most would be at least somewhat familiar with. There are rather graphic sex encounters in this book, and if you are offended by such things then beware. However, the book certainly doesn't center around the lovemaking, and when it does occur, it fits into the plot. The characters were engaging in their roles. The only complaint I found with the book overall is the dialogue of some of the characters. It's a bit of nitpicking, really. I believe the author was attempting to make some of the main characters come across as tough and "street smart", but I felt she really overused abbreviated words, cursing, and slang in general to the point that it felt a tad contrived. I felt Eric Dove did a great job of narrating the story. Overall, a credit worthy read.

Different but really great!

I am a Black Dagger mega fan! This book was a surprise. I was pleased to see a few characters from that series in this book. This is not a continuation of that theme, or that series, but very captivating non-the-less.
J.R.Ward did not disappoint me. She delivered a great read....I am on my second time through so I can assure you that the read is captivating. I am looking forward to the next in the series. Thanks for reading my review!

If you like the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series...

Any additional comments?

If you like the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and are wondering if you will like this one too.... Yes! The series can be stand alone but if you've read BDB you will be way ahead, as the stories run parallel and have some minor interwoven characters. Though I can't say this series has the same erotic pull of BDB quite yet - it's still well worth the credit.

Good but not great.

I've started so I want to see where the line is going. I am so into the BDB I figured this coincided with it. So far I see the over lapping but I dont have the excitement just yet hoping the next book in the series converts me.

Covet

The Fallen Angels series is about the war between good and evil. The two sides have decided to let one person decide who will win the war. In the first book, Covet, we are introduced to Jim Heron, a former assassin who is charged with saving the souls of seven people. If he doesn't succeed, evil wins. Jim's first assignment is Vin diPietro, a very rich man who never has enough money. Jim tries to set Vin on what he believes is the right path. Both soon learn that things aren't what they seem. And when Vin meets Marie-Terese, he starts to question his destiny.

As always, Ward writes complex characters and an interesting plot. The first hour is a little slow with the introduction of so many characters. It took me a while to sort out how they would come together and who was good vs. evil. But I found the romance between Vin and Marie-Terese kept me glued to the book. The overall story arc of good vs. evil is very well done. I also loved Jim and his new sidekicks. Eric Dove does a fantastic job with the narration.
