Publisher's summary

Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about - his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charged with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins.

Vin diPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that - until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart - and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

Not like any other romance out there

Would you consider the audio edition of Covet to be better than the print version?

I didn't read this, only listened to it. However, Eric Dove was an excellent narrator. His voice is deep and soothing to listen to. I actually looked up other books narrated by him, which is something I never do. In truth, I found that the story got a bit long and I probably would have skipped ahead or lost interest as a reader. As an audiobook, it definitely kept my attention a bit more.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I recognize that this is the beginning of a series, so there is a lot of setup. My recommendation would be to space out some of the stuff that establishes the series. It doesn't all have to happen in one book!

What about Eric G. Dove’s performance did you like?

His voice is soothing, deep, sincere and easy to follow. He changes voices for different speakers in a way that is believable and adds to the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Redemption can come in unexpected packages.

A Delicious addition to the setting

A change in pace from Ms. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and one that can take a little getting used to. However, once I did, I found myself enjoying it.

Having been introduced to fallen angels with Lassiter in the BDB series, it was easy to accept that there might be other fallen angels on Earth with their own problems and missions. Jim Heron's transition into a fallen angel after a lifetime in special ops removing problems of a different nature, is an interesting read.

There is a cross over with the world of the BDB in the first story, not only with the setting of Caldwell, but with the appearance of Trez, the Iron Mask, Phury (though you're not given the name) and Marie-Terese.

When Jim is told he has to save Vincent di Pietro, he isn't sure he's up to the task. After all, what does he know about saving souls? Demons? Angels? This is all new territory for him and well, how does he do this without sounding like he's lost the plot and about ready to sign up for a padded cell with a hug me jacket?

An interesting and well written addition the Caldwell/BDB setting, and I look forward to reading/listening to the next novel. As for the narrator, he worked very well for this, and I liked his attempts to make the characters very distinct with the change in voices.

I really enjoyed it

I’m a long time BDB fan but was hesitant to read these. The crossover with characters in Lassiter drove me to finally start these and it is every bit as good!

LOVED IT!

JR Ward is easily in my list of top favorites! I was smitten with my first introduction to her writing with the Black Dagger Brotherhood and I'm so glad I've got yet another addicting series in Fallen Angels.

Covet, the first story in the battle between good and evil was awesome! There was a bit of suspense and mystery, coupled with other worldly fantasy & romance that I really enjoyed. The characters are intriguing and left me excited about what's to come. Ward blends the human/paranormal thing like a pro. The narration was good, although I compared it to the BDB the whole time expecting the voice characterization range that Jim Frangione had, nonetheless, Dove did a respectable job.

I'm all in with this series, and highly recommend it as a total credit worthy purchase!

Just...meh

I'm a new J.R. Ward fan. l virtually inhaled the BDB series. I love Jim Frangione narrating that series. I think this was harder to listen to because of the narrator. I know that's a common complaint, but please, in the future, please let Mr. Frangione narrate.

Not the best of J R Ward

This can’t be JR Ward. The writing is adolescent and full of cliches . Narrator can’t save it .

Love Love Love Eric Dove

Any additional comments?

This is a great book and Eric Dove is phenominal! What a great story. Very different and captivating from the first. The story moves well and really holds your interest. The characters are well developed and there are times I get lost in the story. Everything s good book should be!
