Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S. E. Smith brings another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.

Cosmos Raines is considered one of the most brilliant inventors in the world. A prodigy, he is a self-made billionaire who would rather be in his lab than jet-setting around the world. Things change when his latest experiment literally opens a gateway into a whole new world. Now not only has his best friend and her family moved to a new star system through the gateway he has opened but he finds himself with a warehouse full of alien guests, including one very aggravating female who has turned him inside out.

Terra 'Tag Krell Manok has spent her life in the shadows of her three older brothers. Her home world of Baade is a male-dominated world where females are few in number and protected to the point of captivity. Terra's father is the high chancellor of the Prime and considered the fiercest warrior of their world, next to her brothers. No one defies him and lives. Terra is surprised when her father suddenly sends her through the gateway into hiding to protect her from a clan insisting that she be mated for political purposes. The last thing she expects to find there is her bond mate - in the form of a human male.

Cosmos may not have been expecting to find the woman of his dreams on the other side of the gateway he built, but he knows one thing for sure: No one is going to take her away from him - not the clan who wants to use her nor her father, who thinks all human males are worthless. When she is taken from him, he will use every bit of his intelligence and ingenuity to not only track her down but steal her back. He will prove that a human male can be just as much a warrior as a Prime one, especially when it involves the woman he loves.

Cosmos' is the MAN!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would if I knew my friend liked this type of books. However, I would first recommend the stories that came before this one - Tinks, Hannah, and Tansys' is very important to lay the ground work for Cosmos' story.

What did you like best about this story?

Here everyone thought that Cosmos' was a mild mannered geek - totally engrossed in his tech stuff. Who knew that he had a warrior's personality? And how he went after what he wanted - Terra! And I loved Terra - a very strong woman, that had a great brother that taught her how to protect herself.

Have you listened to any of Suzanne Elise Freeman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes and she is very good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Terra got locked away on that awful island prison and she straighten her backbone and plotted on getting out and back to Cosmos'.

Any additional comments?

Again I would like to say how much I love SE Smith's writing skills - it is out of this world awesome.

Premise was there but it just fell flat

I wanted to like this I really did but there are so many plot holes, it's crazy. Unmated women are sent to an island for their safety. Why does the island have to be like a prison and treat the women so badly? They are there for safety, not punishment so why are they stripped of their names, occupation and clans? It makes no sense. Why does Terra's father send her there and deny her mating. He knows that once they have the mark on their hand, they will die if separated but he does it anyway. THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE! If you want to create drama, then don't completely disregard all the world building done in the previous two books. I found for these reasons I just couldn't like this story. Oh - and the grammar. I'm not perfect but really, how many ways can you twist sentences to make them all end with a preposition not to mention split infinitives? I'm not a grammar expert and it made me cringe to hear it so often.

I'm not crazy about this narrator - she's very bland and robotic. Please let Hollie Jackson narrate -she had the skill set for books like this with action, drama and comedy.

More Adventurous

The narrator does a good job of making you feel like you are there.
Tara is sent from her planet to Earth to live with Cosmos for her protection. The problem is that Tara and Cosmos discovered that they are mates. They both fight it until danger stalks them on earth. When Tara's father comes with warriors to help Cosmos he forbids them from being together. Her father then places her on a prison-like island on their planet. The island is where the females are placed to "protect" them from warriors who will take them against the women's will.
Cosmos must rescue Tara as well as find and fight the evil men that are after him on Earth.
This story is more adventurous than the previous titles in this series. I liked getting to know Cosmos better. Both of them are individuals who care for others.

Finally!

Finally! I love to read/listen to S.E. Smith books. This is the fourth book in the Cosmos' Gateway series. So far Cosmos and Terra are my favorite in this series. Cosmos loves to invent different things that can help out people. The gateway is his latest invention. Terra is the sister of J'Kar, Borj, and Mak. I absolutely loved Cosmos' Promise. This book is filled with humor, adventure, tragedy, incredible sex and a wonderful love story. Cosmos and Terra are so perfect together. I was dying to see how Cosmos was going to reaction to what Terra's father had done. If you REALLY want to know then I HIGHLY suggest that you get THIS book! Suzanne Elise Freeman did a wonderful job with both Cosmos and Terra. Keep up the awesome work! I can't wait to read/listen to Merrick's story.

We get to see another side of our amazing Cosmos

Even though the name of this series is "Cosmos'Gateway" a lot of the focus has been on the Prime Warriors from a faraway galaxy and the women that they are meeting and bonding with. This time, things are a little different. Cosmos is the brilliant inventor who is responsible for the creation of the portals and a whole lot of other fascinating inventions that make this entire series possible. Unfortunately, there is a VERY personal attack on Cosmos and his family and it takes things in a completely different direction.

Up until now, the Warriors have not really seen too much from Cosmos as he has stayed a bit in the background. Things change when he not only meets his bond mate, but he is put in a situation where lives of the people he loves are at stake.

We get to see a WHOLE new Cosmos (or maybe, I think it is fair to say that he finally gets to show us the man he has always been).

This one was a hard one as there are emotional losses and it is always hard to watch a character that you have come to like and admire go through difficult times. But, as always, the story arc keeps us in suspense while at the same time keeping the action non stop.

I am not sure if I have mentioned this before, but I am listening to each of these books in the audio format and the narration has been great. The variation in character voices and distinctiveness of each character makes listening a breeze.

Gotta go now - it seems we having a missing Merrick to find....

I liked the book

I enjoyed the book, the only thing is there was a lot of characters and it was hard to figure out who was who sometimes the narrator did a good job, but I had to constantly rewind the book to hear a new character, the other books were not so bad as this one ?!

Action packed, riveting and super sappy

If you want an action packed romance full of gooey sweet sap, look no further. I was disappointed that the lead female in this story was written to only showcase her heart- with little written to develop the readers understanding of anything else about her. It was hinted that she was curious and scientifically minded, and we know she is a doctor. But little in the story supported these traits. The plot is riveting and exciting, but the book nearly gave me cavities from it’s sweetness. I think if you like sappy romances, this book would be amazing.
