Publisher's summary

We fell in love during the campaign. The stakes were high. Reputations could have been ruined. Scandal hovered over us like a cloud. Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America. And it's not my vote he's after. He wants it all - my heart, my body, my soul. He wants me by his side. In the White House. Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.

I am only 23. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn't done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning.

Critic reviews

"True patriotism, scandal, lust, and an unquenchable love story make this political romance one to remember. Katy Evans mixes reality, eroticism, and romance, creating pure magic." (Audrey Carlan, New York Times bestselling author)

A Perfect example of Narrators Ruining...

This is a perfect example of how important it is to choose the right narrator(s) to read an audio book. The narrators completely took away the interest and creativity of this author's hard work. They made the book extremely boring; it was hard to pay attention to the plot (actually 1 stop away from Ben Stein's performance).

Recommend you purchase the hardcopy if you want to enjoy the book. The author is very talented but you wouldn't know it if you weren't familiar with her work. I am unable to provide a helpful review because I simply couldn't pay attention for more then 10 mins ( for the entire performance); complete snooze fest. The author should fine the narrators for every bad review as a result of poor performance .

Strong Start Weak Ending

With Mr. President ending on a cliff hanger, I was anxious to see where Matt and Charlotte were left after he was voted President of the United States. Charlotte, heartbroken and sad leaves the country in hopes of getting over Matt. Matt, realizing that he s miserable with her, decides he's going to get her back and be with her. Running a country is a big responsibility and I can image why Matt was so skeptical about getting involve with Charlotte. However I thought his was of going about it was a little shady. In both books, he gets close to her by employing her. It would be such a scandal if it were to happen in the real world.

However, everybody seem to be swept up in their love story. It was really cute. I only wish there had been more of an opposition. I highly doubt that if a young, president with no ties to any specific political party would be able to carry on a romance within the White House and receive little to no blowback. Even in Matt's search for the his father's killer, there was no fire in the story. While I loved Matt and Charlotte, after awhile, it felt like one big epilogue for the first book.

Most of this is from Charlotte's perspective which means we hear more from Isabelle Gordon than from John Lane. Both gave solid performances.

A SWEET & SWOON-WORTHY SEQUEL

Since their heartbreaking agreed split on election night two months ago, Matthew is missing Charlotte badly and wants her by his side so Mr. President forms a plan to woo and win his First Lady. Charlotte has been abroad trying to mend her broken heart but it's impossible as Matt was perfect in every way and she knows she'll never ever get over him but completely understands his reasoning behind their split and is fully supportive of his decision. So Charlotte's more than surprised when he tells her of his change of heart and also his heartfelt desire to have her by his side.. but Charlotte doesn't want to rush into anything.. and the forty-sixth US President does.

This was such a sweet and passionate love story between two absolutely selfless people who deserved each other and their beautiful HEA ending. There really wasn't any drama or angst because all they wanted was each other.. and to give everything they could into making their time at the Whitehouse count.. for the people, for politics and for themselves. There were tender scenes, romantic scenes and sexy scenes too as they tried to juggle a relationship and a term in office.. which did include a crisis or two. Dual POV's and John Lane's performance was good.. and Isabelle Gordon's was ok.

Worth a credit? Yes.. this was a very enjoyable well-paced Duet with lots of feel-worthy moments as the handsome dream-worthy hero declares his love and loyalty to me.. no? sigh alright alright to the sweet heroine then ok :))

Plain sailing, plain boring!

Everything was way too easy for them. No angst, drama, upheaval, nothing going wrong. I kept listening to see if it would come but I was left waiting. If you like a nice happy perfect world read then this will be like gold to you but unfortunately I prefer a bit more to the story.

Seemed so RUSHED!

I really, really wanted to like this series seeing as if I Love Katy Evans, but I just couldn't. Truthfully, the cliffhanger ending is the only reason I got book 2 and it was worse in my opinion. The entire story seemed rushed. Returning both.

Romantic

This book makes you fall in love with the idea of freedom and democracy. It reminds you why we strive to be in a country were you are freedom to choose. It also reminds you of the live of love and how love can overcome a multitude of things and still flourish. The dual narration makes the story even more beautiful and passionate. It is truly worth the credit I spent. I'm so glad to have such a beautiful tale in my collection.

Sweet story

No angst or hard drama. An easy listen in a time when we need less drama. Can’t wait to complete the series.

yawn

love Katy Evan's, but these were total Yawners. I struggled to finish. I like the characters, but I just kept waiting for something to happen, some excitement. Too HEA, with absolutely no twist for me.
