Publisher's summary

A good soldier follows orders! US Army Ranger Logan Reed's Vermont hometown has turned into hell. Logan is now known as either the hot 'n' available widower or the town hero. And with the memory of his last mission still raw, the last thing he wants is to be called a hero. What he does want is the bold, redheaded stranger who makes his libido stand at attention. Sadie Bannerman is in town to help her pregnant twin...and to lie low until the world learns she's the author of the hottest new erotica novel! Thanks to her explosive chemistry with Logan, she's getting plenty of naughty inspiration for her next book. Because this supersexy soldier knows exactly how to follow her every command....

Surprisingly Sweet

Sadie is hiding out in Vermont before fame changes her life while Logan is impatiently waiting to get back to duty while dealing with the loss of his wife and his mistakes on his last mission. They agree on a hot fling and only a hot fling and when they were finally able to get down to business – it was hot, hot, hot!! Or should I say, they were hot because thankfully, there were several sex scenes.

I really enjoyed the characters actually getting to know each other bit by bit, and Sadie wanting to bring whatever comfort she could to the grieving Logan was so sweet. I don’t understand why she kept her writing style a secret, though especially knowing the whole world will know once the truth of her identity came out via the media. Logan opened up to her about losing his wife and some of what he experienced in Afghanistan and she still doesn’t tell him. Beyond stupid.

Of course it blew up in her face and caused un-necessary drama, which, thankfully, didn’t last all that long. Sadie’s naiveté regarding media attention seemed to be a bit of a stretch – you don’t have to read the tabloids to know what kind of trash they print and believing she could control it was ridiculous. They are nasty and will do/say anything to sell papers.

Overall, it was a good story and an enjoyable listen.
