Unique situation but a beautiful relationship buildup. Kane & Caroline's story is set in the breed world but doesn't contain any of Dannika's prior characters. Short quick read that takes place under a very unique situation.

So Closer was included (I think), to release the tension. Just to give you a bit of a breather from the series as a whole. Meeting Kane and understanding where he came from, was interesting. However, I could not wait to finish this one to start with the final book of the series. It was just long enough to keep your mind fresh and ready for the grand finale!

since its side story that doesn't follow the characters I've been enjoying I thought why am I wasting my time with this. in spite of that I pushed through it and really enjoyed the characters and hope to hear more about them.

I'm having a hard time getting into the main story if this series. I find Silver offputting for some reason. But I took a chance on the novellas, Risk and Closer. I really liked both of them. Kane and Caroline have an interesting backstory. They meet and get to know each other in the most bizarre way. I liked both of them and found this story wierd but good.
