New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.E. Smith presents another action-, adventure-, and suspense-filled story to transport listeners out of this world.
Riley St. Claire has always followed her own rules. When she discovers her current employer is not as law-abiding as she thought, she has to leave town in a hurry...or end up buried with the dead guy she discovered. She doesn't expect to be picked up by a passing trader from another world.
As the ruling king of Sarafin, Vox d'Rojah is expected to produce a son who will be joined in marriage with the first-born daughter of the king of Valdier. But Vox has no intentions of having any sons, at least not in the near future. He's quite happy with the wide selection of females at his disposal. When Vox is captured by a ruthless Valdier royal and sold to a mining operation, the last thing he expects to find is his bride mate.
Vox isn't sure which would be easier: fighting another war with the Valdier or capturing and holding on to the human female who's unlike anyone he has ever encountered. Now he must escape back to his world while fighting pirates, traders - and Riley!
The king of Sarafin has met his match in Ms. Riley St. Claire from Earth. Now he just needs to figure out a way to let her know he has chosen her as his queen - and he has every intention of keeping her by his side forever.

This series gets better and better. Watch out Sarafin Warriors!!! her comes Riley with all her sassiness and her witty tongue and a bag full of tricks, Making her alpha worrier look like a poor crazy about to loose his mind pussycat with all her antics. You will find your self laughing out loud and blushing at the sex scenes. Can't wait for the nex book. Narrator was awesome
This Riley person is so head strong she is stupid, I could hardly finish the book, I wanted to kill her myself. Come on S. E. smith!! Not your best work. Narrative is terrible at the female voice, terrible!! All the Sarafin Warriors, and the idea of this world is right on, loved Vok. Just why did Riley have to be some back water stupid bitch? Want my money back.
This author had almost become an automatic "buy" for me, but the characters in this book were caricatures. I will not be continuing with this series.
Sorry. . couldn't finish it despite the efforts of a good narrator. Riley has to be the most obnoxious character ever and needs to be on meds. Disappointing 😢
I laughed so hard at times that tears came to my eyes. I loved it! I actually listened to the audible version and at first didn't expect it to be so funny. Light reading, but way worth the time invested. I not only downloaded the next book in this series I put this author on my follow list.
I enjoyed reading the book but hearing it made it that much more enjoyable. Although I don't think a person from Denver would speak with a southern drall. I enjoyed hearing all the characters voices., very easy to visualize the action.
read and listened to this book! love it! Can't wait for the sequel! Told in first, second person story lines gives full view of all the action. This series keeps with the story line off the other series by this author.
Can't say that I am a big fan of the shifting books. But really do like S.E. Smith's stories. This one simply tickled my funny bone. And that is a big hit for me. Riley's bag of trick's just kept getting better and better. This tough little chick just had a heart made of soft butter! But of course managed to take care of herself in all sticky situations. I have just finished reading "Viper's Defiant Mate." Viper is the brother of Vox. Who is sent to get the Grandma and the sister of Riley. I for one cannot wait until Audible gets it. As I had an extremely hard time reading it when I was wiping tears out of my eyes. Yep laughed until I could not see the print. David Brenin as usual did a great job with the narration!
Very funny and a great follow up to the previous valdier warrior series that I read cant wait till the next book
