A Tasty Teaser to a more full story to come later

This is a short little novella, although it seemed even shorter than that, more of a tasty tease of a longer story to come. I am new to this series so I started with the prequel, which is this book and am intrigued to see what happens to these two kids in the future. Well developed characters with distinct personalities and very likable wrapped into the tease of a very interesting story. I'm definitely curious to see what happens.

Where it all began

I really enjoyed this series, it was engaging, full of love, wit and humor. The prequel ended up being the last book I listened to, but it didn't matter. I enjoyed every book in the series.

Very short, good prequel

Very short prequel for the Take a Chance series. I love the way Jack and Daphne meet. Daphne has grit and determination and Jack is so caring. I'd love to know their whole story!

Short but to the point Daphne and Jack connect

Getting the beginning of this family was wonderful. Seeing how they (Daphne and Jack) meet and watching as their connection grew over that short period of time was sweet. This was a short snippet but it held some answers. Teri Schnaubelt did a good job giving voice to both Daphne and Jack. She provided a convincing backdrop for these two characters that birth a new series of love.

Sweet Beginnings

This is a short but very sweet encounter between two young people on a bus. It sets the stage for the series and is utterly charming.

I am especially impressed with how Nancy Warren manages to cram so much information into this 24 minute novella without anything feeling rushed.

The narration by Terry Schnaubelt is really well done. There is a lot of dialogue and it is completely seamless.

All in all this is a great start to the Take A Chance series.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Nancy Warren. The gifting of these audiobooks did not affect my opinion of them.

♥ Story ♥

This is a Prequel to the whole Take A Chance Series. It's a short novella that let you see just how Jack and Daphne met. Their names are so close to Jack and Diane that I can't help myself from calling them that. Please keep in mind the time frame of this story. Things that are acceptable today, were very much NOT in the 70's.

Jack ❤ Daphne

All of this story takes place on June 17, 1976 upon a Greyhound bus heading from California to Oregon. 18 yr old Daphne is on her way to live with her great aunt after finding herself in an unplanned family way. Jack is on his way to Eugene in an effort to re-write his life story. These two just connect and its quite touching.

Its short but insightful. I will probably want to go back and re-listen to Chance Encounter, after I'm finished with #4 because it will probably carry more weight at that point. It's a great bonus to this delightful series. Take a Chance!

The angst is low, which I appreciate. The two love birds do face some settling down issues. I think Caitlyn is a bit of a late grower in that department, but it all works out in the end. We get to meet a good chunk of the other siblings in the beginning of this story. I look forward to all of their stories!

Daphne/Jack Meet & How They Got Rambuctious Brood!

If you could sum up Chance Encounter: Take a Chance: Prequel in three words, what would they be?

Beginning of Romance

What other book might you compare Chance Encounter: Take a Chance: Prequel to and why?

Kiss a Girl in the Rain: Take a Chance, Book 1
Iris in Bloom: Take a Chance, Book 2
Blueprint for a Kiss: Take a Chance, Volume 3
Every Rose: Take a Chance, Book 4

This is a wonderful series that I hope Nancy Warren continues to write & Teri Schnaubelt continues to perform them.

Shannon Stacey's Kowalski series are similar.

Have you listened to any of Teri Schnaubelt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, Terri Schnaubelt/Lynn Barrington is one of my top 2 favorite performers. Her performances are ALWAYS well suited for the books she chooses to perform. Professional, believable and super duper talented.

If Teri is the narrator, I'll pick it up. Yes, she is that good.

Any additional comments?
