I really liked this book. The romance between Gwen and Danniel is very well written. The narrator is excellent. I liked this so much that I clicked on the authors name to see if she and the narrator had any other books...they did. I'll be listening to Blueberry Hill next.
Not the best book ever but I definitely liked it, it was just what I needed. I simply wanted to listen to a book that was carefree and this was a great pick. Made me smile, I enjoyed the reader, and sure it was fairly predictable but most romance novels are. All in all I liked this book a lot; it was great for my morning walks.
Loved it! Wish more of her books were available! That's all I have to say however audible has a 15 word minimum... This should get me to that amount and some...
Funny, endearing, enjoyable
The characters become real and you get caught up in the story quickly.
Johanna Parker's performance makes the story so real and the characters lovable.
Be ready to feel a part of Misty Harbor and the people there.
All of the Misty Harbor books by Marcia Evanick are a fun read with wit, love, romance and just enough drama. I have read all of her books to date and will read any more she writes.
a book lover
I'm so glad I took a chance on an author I'd never read before. I really liked Evanick's characters and setting. I hope Audible will make the rest of the series available to us! Recommended to fans of Contemporary Romance.
Johanna Parker did a wonderful job with the narration. Loved her performance!
This book is really good! It has nice plot, and the characters are funny and endearing. It's true, there is not a lot of controversy in the storyline, but sometimes you just want a nice, relaxing read. This fit the bill in spades! I will definitely be looking for more form this author.
Not a terrible story, but it did move at a rather slow pace. I'm especially tired of narrators who swallow loudly and suffer from excess saliva when reading. I would have given the book a better rating, if it weren't for the terrible narration.
I valiantly tried to give this book a chance, but it is soooo hum drum. There's no conflict, no suspense - I mean -- none! I'm about 2 hours into it and I don't plan on finishing it. Maybe if the reader had a little more inflection in her voice -- but she's pretty hum drum, too. Why did I give it two stars instead of one? Well, it's not ... awful. What a waste of a credit.
This book did make me smile sometimes, and the restaurant details were fun. It's definitely a "cozy."
Not sure, but I did not care for this narrator. I think the story might have improved with a more skillful reading.
I enjoyed most of the characters, but I didn't find the book to be particularly well written. In places it needed a good editor. There were some really wonderful lines and then some awkward passages.
