Publisher's summary

R.S.V.P. to the most riotous wedding of the year....

Lucy Jorik is the daughter of a former president of the United States.

Meg Koranda is the offspring of legends.

One of them is about to marry Mr. Irresistible - Ted Beaudine - the favorite son of Wynette, Texas. The other is not happy about it and is determined to save her friend from a mess of heartache.

But even though Meg knows that breaking up her best friend's wedding is the right thing to do, no one else seems to agree. Faster than Lucy can say "I don't", Meg becomes the most hated woman in town - a town she's stuck in with a dead car, an empty wallet, and a very angry bridegroom.

Broke, stranded, and without her famous parents at her back, Meg is sure she can survive on her own wits. What's the worst that can happen? Lose her heart to the one and only Mr. Irresistible? Not likely. Not likely at all.

Call Me Irresistible is the book Susan Elizabeth Phillips's readers and listeners have long awaited. Ted, better known as "little Teddy", the nine-year-old heartbreak kid from Phillips's first best seller, Fancy Pants, and as "young Teddy", the hunky new college graduate in Lady Be Good, is all grown up now - along with Lucy from First Lady and Meg from What I Did for Love. They're ready to take center stage in a saucy, funny, and highly addictive tale fans will love.

An irresistible romance!

I'm not the type of woman who reads only romance, but this is a great, fun story. I would definitely say it merits the top 5-star rating, paticularly within the genre. There is definite substance with well-developed, vivid characters who find their way into your heart, and an actual plot with interesting events. Well done as an audio production also, with a narrator who is skillfull in bringing the characters' various Texas and British accents to life.

Good story....bad narrator

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator!!! She makes the characters sound angry all the time! The women come through as whiney and hateful in their tone!

What other book might you compare Call Me Irresistible to and why?

The Great Escape! Same narrator!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Shannon Cochran?

Rebecca Lohman

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Different narrator!!!!

Any additional comments?

New narrator please! I have listened to many, many audio books. Few are more difficult to listen to! Takes away from the story!

Interesting characters, great narrator.

Meg, the main character is delightfully offbeat. Dialogue is witty, setting is unique, themes are contemporary, and erotic scenes are well-written. Shannon Cochran really brings the story to life with her characterizations of the nasty Texas women that Meg has to cope with after her BFF leaves the town's mayor at the altar. Length is just right for the plot. No dead spots...listeners won't need to fast forward.

Great Book, Wrong Reader

This is a book set in Texas with a couple of English women as major characters. As a Texan, I gotta say it would've been nice if the performer owned any kind of Texas accent. And it would've been REALLY nice if the attractive, vibrant English characters didn't sound 90 and like they were in an episode of Murder, She Wrote!!

The book is well-produced and the story is so much fun. I'd suggest reading it over listening to it, but it was a lovely revisit - even if Fancy Pants' Francesca is truly annoying in this story.

I think this book is a five star book...

I was not sure about this book By Susan Elizabeth Philips , but you know I loved it, This was a different twist on romance it was messy and more realistic than most, I liked the small town ladies and the real life characters in this story line, I laughed and got angry at the characters and to me that is a sign the book is worth the effort to Liston to, I finished this book in two days i could not put my I pod down, Not good when you need to see clients.. I hope you try this one it is a must read in my opinion and I have allot of books in my library..

Thoroughly Enjoyable!

I totally enjoy all Susan Elizabeth Phillips books! Her stories and characters are so fun, I love them! However, the narrator makes the book for me, and with the passing of Anne Fields, I thought I would never enjoy Susan's books as much as I had in the past. But I must say that Shannon Cochran did an awesome job with the narration of this book, and I enjoyed it very much! It took me some time to realize that there are other great narrators that are as enjoyable as Anne Fields, and while I miss her narration soooo much, this book is a great listen! I highly recommend it!
