Publisher's summary

Ash, Jace, and Gabe: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They're accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Ash, it's the woman who changes everything he’s ever known about dominance and desire....

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side - extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Even the ones he's shared with his best friend, Jace.

But Jace is involved with a woman he has no intention of sharing. And now even Gabe has settled into a relationship with someone who gives him everything he needs, leaving Ash feeling restless and unfulfilled.

Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

Just as good as the first two in the trilogy!

Any additional comments?

As it's previous two following up to this installment, it does not disappoint. Ties up some loose ends from the first two books. Good story, although short listen, still worth the credit. Maya Banks succeeds again! Oh so sexy is Ash McIntyre, yum yum!

Which scene was your favorite?

I have to say the sex scene after Ash beats up Michael. It was one of the most memorable one I have ever read

A great wrap up

I loved this series. was worried when I first started it but it turned out great. The third book I was a little disappointed in though. It wasn't as long as the first two and I saw a lot of different ways this book could have taken. I always think they should have a 4th book for Kia and Brittany.
However, I would have liked to read more about the weddings and kids. I love this series and just wished it didn't have to end.

Big Finale!

All characters included in the last of the trilogy! Still very raunchy! So, I was pleased!

BURNIN' HOT!

I was highly anticipating this third installment in the Breathless series so I was perplexed when in the first few chapters I had mixed reviews. Where the story excelled was in the love scenes...hot as usual...excluding the multiple statements of "GET THERE!!" :-) Also, I enjoyed the other characters that were introduced, and sub-plots that unfolded which gave the story more depth. I understand that this was going to be another "hot dominant guy" meets girl and falls head over heels, but Ash's 'lines' and responses to Josie didn't feel authentic somehow and initially the story felt predictable, but improved drastically about halfway through it. Maya Banks is a great author so I remain a fan and can't wait for future books of this same genre from her.

Book 3 of Breathless Trilogy

Would you consider the audio edition of Burn to be better than the print version?

Don't have time to sit down and read, perfect alternative!

Did Adam Paul do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Narrator was ok.

Any additional comments?

The best of and perfect ending to the Trilogy. Sensual, erotic, romantic with great story line.

More of a 3.5

I did enjoy this listen. It's just there's too much sappy content. I guess I don't enjoy all the "emotional" conversations between men and it's hard for me to visualize or connect with that. Also the love at first sight and knowing within a week that they want to get married is too much for me.I do know this is fiction but I do like to feel swept into a scene and some places are hard to connect with. This is just not one of MB's series that fires me up. It's good, but it is not one of those that makes my earbuds melt. In saying that, a few sexual scenes are very good. It's the total package that is not satisfying.

If your a fan of this series then go ahead and get this one to continue the story. If you want a real hot listen then I would look further.

NO SMOLDERING HERE - STRAIGHT TO THE "BURN" !!

Would you consider the audio edition of Burn to be better than the print version?

Don't know - didn't read the print version, but my assumption is that whenever one gets to listen to Adam Paul's sultry all-male voice, especially during the story's intimate escapades, its hard to believe that the voice in my head when I read could ever hold a candle.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Burn?

The hospital scene where Ash becomes emotional.

Which character – as performed by Adam Paul – was your favorite?

Ash. That said he does all male voices great and distinct for each character and female voices almost as good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved a lot throughout the entire book; there was tension, anticipation, tears, laughter, yearning, squirming and heart pounding.

Any additional comments?

Well, I am not sure if it was that I felt like I had to wait a long time in anticipation of the audio release of this book or if the book was truly that much better than the other two in the trilogy, but I did like this one better. Oh, don't get me wrong, the first two were exciting and moving also, but Ash & Josie's story just "got" me in so many ways.

I believe of all of Maya Banks' books, especially those of the audio variety, this trilogy was her best thus far. Her writing and character development gets more and more refined/defined and sophisticated. I loved the way Ash talked in "clipped" sentences a lot of the time, making his point firmly, directly and defined his alpha/dominant personality and position. I can't say enough about Ms. Banks' writing and story-telling with this trilogy and hope she continues along this vein with future books - and in the not too distant future cuz' I've listened to everything Audible has offered of hers.
