After seven years as a Chicago homicide detective, Lisa Grant has hit a wall. Ready for a kinder, gentler life, she takes a job as a small-town police chief. But the discovery of a human skeleton by a construction crew at the edge of town taxes the resources of her department.
A call for assistance brings detective Mac McGregor, an ex-Navy SEAL, to her doorstep. As they work to solve the mystery behind the unmarked grave, danger begins to shadow them. Someone doesn't want this dead person telling any tales - and will stop at nothing to make certain a life-shattering secret stays buried.

This is my first book of your's Irene Hannon, and I absolutely loved it, and will certainly be listening to more. The narrator was lovely too and made you believe it was real! Also lovely to read books that don't compromise on the Word of God, I have no interest in secular books anymore and am thrilled that there are fantastic authors in the Christian novels. Thank you and God bless you!
Buried Secrets rates in the top 3 of the books that I have listened to so far. It is the first book I have listened to by Irene Hannon.
Lisa was my favorite character because I liked how spunky she was in investigating the case as well as how she managed the handsome Mac MacGregor. She was good at keeping him off balance and he intelligently and carefully managed her too.
Again it was Lisa. I loved how they performed her when she was thinking to herself about the case and MacGregor.
Yes, when she went to Lisa's house to kill her and Mac couldn't reach her because Jessica was pushing her to exercise so that her blood sugar would bottom out. As she was losing her ability to keep going as her blood sugar plummeted it was tense wondering if Mac would get to her in time to save her. Then it was heart warming when he was with her as the paramedics were reviving her.
I love Irene Hannon's books. She is a new author to me and I am eager to listen to more of her books.
Not is the story totally awesome with great suspense, wonderful romance and a fantastic plot but the writing is fantastic with great character development. The narrators Therese Plummer and Jennifer Grace did a fantastic job and made the experience even better. A great experience.
6 hours in and I'm so bored. So far the only thing remotely intestine is the bad guy. Both MCs are so bland and boring that listening to their portion of the story is excruciating.
This was an excellent book, well narrated. Some of the reviewers didn't like knowing from the beginning who was the murder. I thought of it like Columbo, and was interested to see how the good guys would take the person down. I highly recommend this book.
I don't think I would recommend it. The story started very slow almost like a teenage romance. I was glad that I stuck it out because once the story did develop it was quite interesting but I felt like it too way too long for the Author to really get things moving.
This is one of the greatest books I've come across in a long time. This has romance but the suspense will keep you listening to the end. I'm sure if I were reading it, this book would be one I'd have a hard time putting down!
Hey I'm a guy and I liked it ... and I know my wife will love it. Great story about vision, perseverance and hope. Mixed with a lot of action and a little romance.
Just awesome! Sometimes I miss past series characters...but no worries- more new ones to just love! Needed a strong woman read with great story...I'm never disappointed by this great author
