Dude!

It really was better than just a repeat on the first book. And Zachary Webber can narrate the phone book and I think I would love it!

Landon + Lucas = New Love Story

Would you listen to Breakable again? Why?

Absolutely. Landon/Lucas broke my heart. He's such as sweet, fractured, complicated but simple, lost boy that I just wanted to hug and tell him it'd be ok. The narrator was great and emotional when he needed to be and the material really struck a cord with me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Breakable?

When Jacqueline tells Lucas she Googled his mother. The air was sucked out of my lungs and I was crying a lot. That's really hard to do without air, btw.

Which scene was your favorite?

The self-defense scenes at the end when Jacqueline and Erin are beating up Lucas and the instructor. Erin's the best wing woman ever and she's hilarious while she's doing it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I don't know, without giving away the plot and what happened to Landon to turn him into Lucas.

Any additional comments?

Without giving too much away, this story focuses on the aftermath of a tragic event that split a father and son apart. It also focuses on how the son healed himself while taking care to make certain that horrific event didn't happen to another person he knew and cared about. I ended up loving Landon and Lucas about two paragraphs into the story and didn't fall out of love with either one of them. I'm so glad that Jacqueline was as deserving of Lucas and Landon as they were of her.

BTW- Landon and Lucas are the same character, but the event splits them into two different people. Landon is the boy and Lucas is the man, but they're still lost until Lucas meets Jacqueline.

Great read and refreshing newness I hadn't expected

What's not to like about Lucas? If you adored Lucas from Jackie's story Easy, you'll complete, fall for, want to shake him awake and hug him all at the same time and never let go. This wasn't like other stories that attempt to retell the previous book. It was deeper, intuitive of another experience rarely with entire separate story which made live the character more. Just when you thought you knew the Lucas you adored, Tammera Webber finds a way to give you the more and it's so refreshing you can't simply put it down until the end. Narration was wonderfully perfect with every emotion articulated that I didn't feel like I was peeking through the window of someone's life but rather on the journey with them.

Breath taking point of view....

This is a beautifully written book in Lucas/ Landon's point of view. The companion book was amazing and I read it first, but there is so much more detail to the story that comes out in this version. I loved hearing about his adolescence spent on the beach :)
The narrator is awesome. Sometimes they don't match up with the tone/ feel of the book, but this one absolutely does :)

Worth the credit!

I loved this book, I’m glad I listened to the first book as it helped a lot with the back and forth in this book. The narrator as always did an amazing job.

This was such a great listen . Its sweet , emotional , sexy, with two time lines told wonderfully . Zachary has quickly become one of my favorite voices, a great story teller and makes a new purchase an easy decision when he is included in narration !

Confused who is hotter - Lucas or the narrator!!

STORY (new adult romance) - I really loved this story. Book 1, "Easy," is Jacqueline's story. This second book is from Lucas' POV. They both cover pretty much the same territory but, since this is told from Lucas' male perspective, it didn't seem repetitive. Lucas has the sexual preoccupation you might expect of a college student, but he's also very sensitive and romantic. First he's obsessed with meeting Jacqueline and then he just wants to love, protect and cherish her. And did I mention he's HOT? (swoon!)

For those who have not heard "Easy," Landon Lucas Maxfield (main character) is emotionally complicated. His happy childhood was interrupted by a horrific event when he was 13, after which time he began going by his middle name and became a partying "bad boy." This book alternates between two timelines - one about Landon, beginning immediately after that event and continuing till high school graduation. The other timeline is told by Lucas, beginning sometime during his senior year in college when he meets Jacqueline. And, yes, by the end of this book you will have answers to all the questions about Lucas that were left unanswered in "Easy."

PERFORMANCE - One of my new favorite narrators. His voice is sexy, sensitive and emotional. He does a great job with the voice of younger Landon, an old man and Landon's country-boy best friend. And when he does the emotional flashback Lucas has of the horrible event, wow! Just wow.

OVERALL - This book contains quite a bit of cursing, especially F-bombs. There's several kissy-feely scenes and some fairly explicit sex scenes as well. There's some fighting between students and also rape. It's Book 2 in the series and can stand alone, but I'd highly recommend you start with Book 1 and hear Jacqueline's story first. Recommended for females of any age who are old enough to deal with the subject matter and have an affinity for bad boys.

What a terrific Listen.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It's the first Tammara Webber I've ever read (and I didn't read this, I listened to it). There are some issues with the book that other more expert bloggers have mentioned but as y'all all know, I am a visceral reviewer and I go with my heart/gut. And, I could NOT stop listening to it and riding Lucas Maxfield's emotional roller coaster. As for the issues stated by some bloggers about decisions made by the main characters, I don't think that's so much a writing issue as it is trying to get inside the mind of a college aged kid. And college seniors are still kids; still not totally relationship savvy, mature or able to see life through years of experience that most of us have. I can remember making some of the stupidest decisions of my life when I was in college (and beyond, actually) so I don't fault the book for being realistic in that sense.

This book is a parallel book to Easy, the story of Jaquelyn and Lucas...how they met, how they became who they were at the end of Easy. Easy is Jacquelyn's book...Breakable is Lucas' emotionally wrenching story. And a turbulent, sad, beautiful story it is. An aside focus is awareness of assaults on women on campuses, the shame and guilt that is a aprt of that and the need to be trained in how to deal with an attacker.

To top it all off, it's read by one of my favorite narrators (who just happens to be Tammara Webber's son) Zachary Webber. He did such an amazing job as Lucas in this book...bringing to life all sides of Lucas..his pain, his rage, his guilt, his heart, his love, his struggles and his redemption.

If you want to be entertained by a really good writer, really good narrator and a very strong story, this should be on your list, for sure.

An Unforgettable Duet; Easy+Breakable

I accidentally found this book. I loved Easy, and I was tentative about buying this book from Landon Lucas's POV. I have to say the narrator made this book work for me. I think the wrong narrator would have ruined the feel of this tender love story. At least this time I knew what happened but there were many surprises. The mark of a really good author that can bring another story to this couple. Easy and now Breakable will join my favorite romances. Worth the credit and thank you for the pleasure of listening to this well written, well narrated story.
