Everything has a price...and I'm willing to pay.
I trust no one. I thrive with control and I've learned to be ruthless and coldhearted. A love life? I'm not interested.
But I still have desires.
That's where Dahlia came in; my treasure. She had never been a submissive before and I was eager to train her.
When I saw her on stage at the auction, dressed in gold, I knew I had to have her.
She's mine for an entire month. I own her. But one lie changed everything.
She's going to pay for it. But I'm doing this for her own good. She needs this.
I'm going to make this right. I'm going to heal her.
If it's the last thing I do.
Bought is a full-length standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

I like reading bdsm, not quite in to living it... but this a beginner story into the club...nothing harsh, some intrigue. Douglas is a great voice for this, Brooke is good but sounds real young for this role.... overall a good listen...
I have read many books by Lauren Landish and Willow Winters (including this one) and I find that the audiobooks add so much more to the story. This particular book is in the duel style narration, which is fitting for getting into the minds of Dahlia and Lucian. I found the story well written, I just don't personally get the dominate/submissive lifestyle. To me, this listen was total escapism from real life (house cleaning, work, etc) and very enjoyable. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I do not like to give away spoilers in my reviews, that said, this is a standalone listen and does not end in a cliffhanger. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. Both Brooke Hayden and Douglas Berger did very good performances with their characters. They added so much emotion that one does not get just readying the book.
Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
I love a good d/s book and the storyline behind this one was a good one. The dom that is too scared to enter a real relationship so he buys a submissive for a month and a girl who wants to be in the lifestyle so she goes in head first by being purchased.
There are a few issues that got to me tho. The first half of the book is very repetitive in nature. Always reiterating the reasons for things like 3+ times. It was a waste of time. Also the main character goes from saying "I know what bdsm is, I've read 50 Shades" and then 5 minutes later is saying that she needs the submission and the punishment. There is a huge gap between those two extremes.
But overall it was a good listen that kept me entertained.
Brooke and Douglas were good narrators. I liked Brooke's narration, I thought she sounded like the appropriate age and personality. Douglas was the same but I had just a little trouble with his tone not quite being as commanding as a dom should be.
