Publisher's summary

Alec's music is as dark as his vampire kiss is deadly, but Nicole will risk everything, including her life, to love him.

Born to Darkness is book 1 in the 4 Book Immortal Destiny Series.

Nicole Ashe is the average American girl, except that she happens to work for a vampire and doesn't realize it. But all that changes when her boss sends her to convince a local rock musician – heartthrob, to help them retrieve an ancient relic that could be the answer to the vampire's curse. Nicole soon discovers that Alec is a vampire...and completely irresistible.

There is something about Nicole that stirs Alec's hunger nearly beyond control, but he would do anything to protect her...even from himself.

Nicole is destined for a world of darkness that she cannot even begin to imagine, and love that can transcend eternity.

disappointed

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No, this book was one of the worst I just wish I'd listen to first book before buy the second book. The story was not even that good an I listen to alot of paranomal audio books.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

No pause between chapters. Music very distracting. and the two differant reader was very distracting an just bad.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

They had two differant readers an it was just terrble

Did Born to Darkness inspire you to do anything?

No

Any additional comments?

Just wish I had not bought other book don't know if i can make it through another book. Hate to wast credit:(

THE STORY GETS BETTER IN THE NEXT BOOK

Where does Born to Darkness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as my 'listening' experience, I thought it was at the top in quality, narration and idea inventiveness. The relationships in the book were many and the female and male narration was really good. Some of the male vampire characters were slightly grating on my ears, but then what 500 year old vampire is going to have a soothing and pleasant voice right? Think about it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Nicole and Dash were my favorites. I know Alec was the hot male lead vampire, and I really did like him, but I tend to like the relationships that evolve out of a great friendship first. I am **hoping** that Dash and Nicole end up together, although right now there is absolutely no **hint** of this happening, I do know there are 3 other books in this series which may shock me to find that they do end up together in the end. I just gotten through Night Breed, the second book, which I totally love. You must give this series a chance. The first book is a decent start, Born to Darkness, but the next book really is, I think, even better and brings the story to new heights in the dark paranormal world, without going too dark.

What about Lee James and Destiny Landon ’s performance did you like?

Great acting voices and emotion in their voices.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You got me thinking on this one!!! OK .. Alec loses Nicole to Dash? How could this have happened??

Any additional comments?

I bought the second audio book to this Immortal Destiny Series, Night Breed. I am very pleased to see the same narrators have done the next book. I hate it when you really like characters, and you have already matched the 'voice with the characters' and then it is all messed up when it is a different narrator, which also brings a different emotion to each character. Anyway, this series is turning out to be a definite good listen.

bad male voices!

The male narrator is ok except when he is voicing the vamps. His voice is way too low and slow!

O.....my......Gosh....the wait.....then the music.

Would you try another book from Lorraine Kennedy and/or Lee James and Destiny Landon ?

NO, the quite spaces made me think it was over every chapter and then the music between chapters not to mention Alec's voice was way creepier than sexy.

What was most disappointing about Lorraine Kennedy’s story?

The spaces of silence in between story chapters followed by horrible music.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Hugely, Alec's voice is terrible.

What character would you cut from Born to Darkness?

Unsure as I could not make myself finish the story.

Any additional comments?

No silences or music in the middle of the books. We are not children who need potty breaks or music to reclaim our attention. Just give me a shorter book, maybe one that I could love if I could listen to the full book.

This book should be combined with the others!

I just finished Wolves and Black Roses (my favorite of all three books thus far). This first book, Born to Darkness was a very good start, but the story gets really good in the second and third books. I really think book one and two should be combined so you see how full and more complete and original this story really is. The narration is just fantastic in all three books. I highly recommend this series. You must get books 1 & 2 "together" which will fully satisfy your readers needs and will help you decide to go on with book 3 (which you must, because it is HOT! and again, has an open ending for the next book.

Never heard anything so horrible in my entire life

I can't even describe how bad the narration of this book is a sound like some homemade thing done on a cell phone. The male voices are just off-the-wall creepy even if the premise for the story is somewhat interesting. I can't stand it long enough to finish it. It's very amateurly done. I'm so glad it was a free lesson with my romance package. If I had wasted credit. I would be pissed.
