Publisher's summary

In a world where the League and its assassins rule, where betrayal and treachery are everywhere... the only survivors are those ones who are... Born of Shadows.

For Caillen Dagan, a defiant soldier of fortune, survival isn't a right, it's a brutal daily battle. Moving through the Ichidaian universe like a wraith, his brushes with the law and death are legendary. But when an act of rare heroism reveals his hidden birthright, he's forced into a world much more dangerous and cold-hearted than the bloody streets where he was raised-one of obscene wealth and lethal politics.

Ferocious and determined, Desideria serves as an official bodyguard for her queen. Born of questionable genetics, she will do anything to prove herself worthy of the weapons she carries and the position she's won by combat. But when she uncovers a ruthless plot to assassinate the queen and overthrow her country's government, Desideria is caught in the crosshairs.

Another fabulous addition to the series and Holter Graham does an excellent job on the narration

Great narration...ok story

Action packed. This book was really good but the story towards the end became a little confusing.

Any additional comments?

I am hooked on these characters and each book incorporates old ones and introduces more interesting potential new books. Man alive, these are awesome so far. FYI the first book I read in paperback and it can not be missed! Worth every penny.

The end was kinda lame, but the fights were awesome. Narrator needs a better female voice it was horrible.

Series Fan

Love all the stories and characters. So glad they all get fleshed out later in the series. Also the accents and voices change in later narrations and I like the newer versions of Chey, Fain, Hauk, and Nyk's voices better.

Great story

This next book did not disappoint. The things you probably liked about the first books are in this book as well. The male lead is charming, there’s interesting aliens cultures, and of course, some romance. I recommend!

The League Book 3

Third in The League series doesn’t disappoint as it continues with the story of Caillen Dagan, young brother to Shahara Dagan in Born of Fire.

Both hero and heroine are likeable with supporting characters in Darling Cruel, Fain Hauk and his younger brother Dancer. You’ll meet Maris Sulle, who has greater roles in subsequent books.

Syn Wade and the Dagan sisters make a reprise appearance.

Desideria is a strong female character who discovers Chayden Aniwaya is her brother.

The narrator is easy to listen to although there is little distinction between character voices. Andarions have thickly accented voices and the narrator neglects to give Hauk and Fain that distinction. He also mispronounces Nykyrian’s surname, which I is a pet peeve of mine.
