So Carlotta Wren's life hasn't turned out as she planned. She didn't plan for her parents to skip bail for a white-collar crime, leaving her to raise her brother. She didn't plan on having the silver spoon ripped from her mouth and forgoing college to work retail. She didn't plan on her blue-blood fiancé dumping her. And she didn't plan on still being single 10 years later, working at Neiman Marcus, with no idea where her fugitive parents are. But she's coping.
Until her lovable brother is arrested, and the hunky cop decides to reopen her parents' case.
Her brother becomes a body mover for the morgue, and his sexy boss gets Carlotta involved.
Her former fiancé's wife (a good customer) is murdered, fingering Carlotta.
With three men in her life, Carlotta has added motivation to help bag a murderer to keep her own well-dressed body from being next on the list!
Your move: check out the rest of the Body Movers series.

I love all of these books. I guess it helps that I'm from Atlanta and have had to suffer through quite a few TERRIBLE southern accents, and Cassandra Campbell does a great job of affecting the accent without throwing the entire south into the boonies.
When I first bought the paperback book about 6 years ago I had expected more sex, but by the time I got engrossed in all of the men in Carlotta's life I was just as enthralled by all of the sexual tension! Jeeze.
Anyway. I love these books. There're more coming out next year, and I can't wait. Go for it.
Oh, and I almost never know who the "bad guy" is. It's ridiculous. I re-listen to these more frequently than I do any other books in my library.
I should start by saying that I love sci-fi and romance mixed with a good twisting plot. So when I chose this book I assumed that not having the Sci-Fi won’t be that bad since I still get 2 out of 3.
(Spoiler alert you might want to stop reading now)...
I was wrong - there is NO romance either (so that left me with 1 out of 3), the reason I said spoiler alert was because maybe there are some hopeless listeners out there who will listen to the whole 11hours of this book hoping that the romance is around the corner – well it ain’t.
So for the remaining 1 (twisting plot), the book (for me personally) was slow to pick up and didn’t really until the last 1.5h (which makes it 9.5h of not very satisfying listen). The twist was alright but I just didn't care at that point. There were too many long description of going to work, working, coming back home etc.
The book has 2 main characters that make stupid decisions and end up paying for them so it imitates the life of most folks with the knack for stupidity. Personally, I don’t like those story lines in movies or books (I will add that I don’t like the show “weeds” for this same reason so if you like that show ignore my long comment).
Likes: Dean Koontz, Lee Child, Janet Eveanvich, Jennifer Crusie/Bob Mayer, Harlen Coben....a real mixed bag!
I enjoy a real variety of fiction, so I always try to keep a few series of books going at the same time, depending on my mood - I have loved the Janet Evanovich books for my "light reading", but had read everything she had, so I started searching for "new to me" authors. I did enjoy this book, although, I am sure as the series goes on and the characters are fleshed out/developed more thoroughly, I will get more into the story line. All in all, I do not regret this purchase, and look forward to reading the next in the series.
The Sisters Review
This book is the first in the series. As with any series the characters aren't fully developed but they are interesting and the plot is good.
A little romance between 3 possible suitors, a little mystery that seems to involve murder, and family drama as her parents are on the run and she tries to care for her 19 year old brother who lacks personal judgement and self-control.
I quickly bought the second in the series and am really glad that I did.
no one - was slow - plot was predictable - main character no redeeming qualities
not in this genre but from this author
had some suspense , some humor ANYTHING - was truly awful
the simpering make out sessions , the internal thoughts of the main character
Please don't waste your money on this one ...
Mysteries are my favorite, but I love most any well written books.
I know you can't judge a book by its cover and this book proves it. I've avoided this series for quite some time just because the covers are on the cheesy side. I finally broke down and listen to the first book in the series and enjoyed it very much. The plot and characters both had depth and facets that kept your attention till the end. I'm looking forward to The second book in the series!
Long but a nice intro to a series that promises to be interesting . A body moving co is a great profession to find juicy mysteries.
Amazon is my favourite way to shop!
This book was very entertaining and fun. I am going to be checking frequently to see if the rest in this series come out through Audible. Really hopeful!
