Publisher's summary

My father always said fear was a weakness. Well, that's easy to say when you don't have to worry about vampire slayers or holy water. I hate fear, but undead life goes on. In the two months since I was attacked in the hospital morgue and turned into a vampire, I've killed my evil sire, Cyrus, fallen in love with my new sire, Nathan, and have even gotten used to drinking blood. Just when things are finally returning to normal (as normal as they can be when sunlight can kill you) Nathan becomes possessed. And then he slaughters an innocent human.

Now it's my job to find Nathan before the Voluntary Vampire Extinction Movement does, because they're just waiting for an excuse to terminate him and anyone foolish enough to help him. But it gets worse. It turns out that Nathan's been possessed by one of the most powerful and wicked vampires alive: the Soul Eater. And who knows what vile plan he's concocted?

With the Soul Eater and my possessed sire on the loose, I have a lot to fear. Including being killed. Again.

Don't miss the rest of the Blood Ties series, including Book One, The Turning, Book Three, Ashes to Ashes, and Book Four, All Souls' Night.

It was Ok...

The story line was ok but I felt the dialog was repetitive and not particularly interesting.

There were really few surprises after listening to the first two books in this series.

I chose to not listen to any of the other series books, as I can't imagine that I would feel much different.

But I would say it is an OK read.

Friends dont let friends...

well, as in the first book, it gets a bit silly and the high pitched mickey mouse voices of the enemies make it hard to take them seriously. I dont have the heart, ears or wallet to read book 3. You read it and tell me the painful events I missed.

Blase...

I should have known that this would be more about relationships between the characters than about action, since this is a Harlequin published book, but really. The characters seem to want to talk out their problems more than fight them out. Who knew that vampires and werewolves were so "human"?

This book tries to redeem "Cyrus", one of the self-loathing villains from the first book, but turns him into a sappy, new-age foo-foo, from the dangerous, sexy, but amoral vampire that he was.

The book leaves you with a lot of unresolved plot lines, and quite openly leaves you waiting for a sequel for resolution. I was kind of reduced to listening just to know how it turns out, rather than actually enjoying the book itself.

Lost me...

I really enjoyed the first book. I started listening to this book, with high hopes. I am not a moral elitest, and didn't have an issue with the back and forth between the characters. However, this book lost my interest. I began to detest the main characters, wishing the best for none of them. I did however really enjoy the secondary characters of Bella, and the horn dog. They had better personalities, and seemed to be honest to themselves, and the book. I do enjoy log stories, but this was too formula for me. Same rehash as the last, just in reverse. I truly expected better from this author, and unfortunatly will be unable to purchase more of this series. (Unless she makes one of the secondary characters.)

boring!!!

I made it to chapter 5. I'm done watching paint dry would be more entertaining then this book. The first book was ok except for the yoda voices, i'll try to skip to the third book and see if it is better. I cannot imagine that i'll miss much from this one.
