Publisher's summary

I'm no coward. I want to make that perfectly clear. But after my life turned into a horror movie, I take fear a lot more seriously now. I finally became Dr. Carrie Ames just eight months ago. Then I was attacked in the hospital morgue by a vampire. Just my luck.

So now I'm a vampire, and it turns out I have a blood tie to the monster who sired me. The tie works like an invisible leash, and I'm bound to him no matter what I do. And of course he's one of the most evil vampires on earth. With my sire hell-bent on turning me into a soulless killer and his sworn enemy set to exterminate me, things couldn't get much worse...except I'm attracted to them both.

Drinking blood, living as an immortal demon, and being a pawn between two warring vampire factions isn't exactly how I'd imagined my future. But as my father used to say, the only way to conquer fear is to face it. So that's what I'll do. Fangs bared.

Don't miss the rest of the Blood Ties series, including Book Two, The Possession and Book Three, Ashes to Ashes, and Book Four, All Souls' Night.

Very Good

I have to be honest in saying when I heard "Harlequin Romance" in the opening lines, I was concerned I would get a cavity from a sappy love story. My fears were removed almost immediately. I really liked the plot and enjoyed listening to the narrator. I did not find the voices cartoonish when different charactors were read and I appreciated the tone and pace throughout the recording. "Book One" implies more from this author is planned and I for one am looking forward to it.

This is a really good series...

I would recommend it to anyone who likes the
vamp/supernatural genre. I've listened to these several times. Don't know if they'll ever come out with a new book, though.

Decent

Any additional comments?

Overall a pretty decent story, although a bit slow at times. I really enjoyed the narrator most of time but some of her character voices (Ziggy and Dahlia) are atrocious.

save your time it's a lifeless bore

the narrator's voice was good except when she did some of the vampires and witch then I felt like laughing. This story had some major flaws and if there was no sex it probably could of been for a youth read. I will not read the next book in the series and I don't like when a character I grew to like dies no one seemed too sad about Ziggy except me.

Not a fan of the narrator

I thought the story was good but I found the high pitch of the narrators voice distracting for most of the characters.

Strange voices

The voice actress has an interesting voice and great inflection and emotion. I was confused though why Nathan’s accent was Irish (very) when he was Scottish and Cyrus’ voice was so UNmasculine.. he’s supposed to be this irresistible Adonis in his form yet he sounded like a temperamental drag queen…

Good Vampire Series

I love vampire novel, so I jumped at the chance to purchase this audio book. It started out kind of slow. I actually turned it off after the first couple chapters. Out of lack of having anything else to do, I turned the audio book back on. I'm really happy I did. It got much better. These books are kind of a guilty pleasure for me. It's a decent vampire novel mixed with a crazy (in a good way) erotic scenes. I love the narrator!! She really defines each characters.

I quickly purchased the over two. I finished all 3 in about a week. I couldn't put them away.
