Few people walk the streets of London since the zombie outbreak, but that's not an issue for Seth. As a werewolf, he can handle himself and save humans reckless enough to take a nighttime stroll. While on patrol he comes across a group of people under attack. The one woman brave enough to take a stand against the zombies catches his eye - and not just because of her way with a gun. Learning the beautiful woman is homeless and fends for herself only intensifies his urge to protect and care for her.
Maisie can't help but admit that she's attracted to her werewolf rescuer. She's drawn to Seth's strength and ferocity, and finds herself opening up to him in ways she never imagined, even though she's determined to not rely on Seth or anyone else. She doesn't want another person to get hurt - or die - for her sake. She has enough scars, physical and emotional, from the last time...
But when Seth realizes something is drawing the zombies to Maisie, there may be nothing he can do to save her....

I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
I liked this book, but I have a deep love for anything paranormal + romance. I didn't like the way the book ended however. I mean it just ended... These two finally get together after fighting off zombies then... he bites her to save her life, and wham! It ends... just like that. There has to be a book 2 out there, b/c this story would have been great if just a little more was added to the end.
Narration was ok... nothing to rave about.
A credit or sale book.
I bought this because I wanted the second book of the series (love the narrator of that one, Saskia Maarleveld) and I'm SO glad that I did! It's got a hunky alpha werewolf, a kick-ass heroine and Zombies! What more could I ask for?
The two main characters are interesting. Seth is your typical hot alpha, growling and fighting and quite possessive, but he also has a softer side that made me like him a lot. Too often in these type of stories I get the feeling that the author was afraid of giving the male lead a softer side (or any flaws or insecurities), because they don't want him to appear weak. More often than not, that leaves me not liking the guy. I mean, who wants to be with an aggressive, overprotective, overly possessive guy who never lets you in and always has his walls up sky high? Showing weakness doesn't make you weak. Anyways. I liked Seth a lot. Even more, though, I liked Maisie. Gosh, did I like Maisie! She is strong and witty and smart and caring and kicks some serious butt, even though she is "just a human" – and a human with an bad leg and both physical and emotional scars to boot!
I'm just sad that this was only a novella. Because of that, there wasn't much plot, and – well, I just would have loved to spend more time with these characters. I would have loved a full novel about them – would still love it!
The narration was awesome, too! I love her voices, female and male ones alike. I'm going to have to see what else she's narrated.
So, after listening to this one, am I still planning on getting the second book I wanted in the first place? You betcha!
I love Sci Fi/Fantasy books. The very first author I listened to was Laurell K Hamilton. I love audiobooks they allow me the luxury of books without reading since I don't see well at all.
The story was too short, it was boring and it left you hanging .
the story seemed to be thrown together and it just left you with no answers to anything so you have to buy the next book,,This was dissappointing
To me she wasnt able to personalize the characters..Everyone sounded the same to me.
this book was a waste of time and a waste of a credit..Im really sad because I really love these types of books
