From beloved author Nora Roberts comes the #1 New York Times bestseller about shattering loss and shocking discovery - set in a small town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains...

When five-thousand-year-old human bones are found at a construction site in the small town of Woodsboro, the news draws archaeologist Callie Dunbrook out of her sabbatical and into a whirlwind of adventure, danger, and romance.

While overseeing the dig, she must try to make sense of a cloud of death and misfortune that hangs over the project - fueling rumors that the site is cursed. She must cope with the presence of her irritating - but irresistible - ex-husband, Jake. And when a stranger claims to know a secret about her privileged Boston childhood, she must question her own past as well...

Great story. Classic Nora Roberts.

I loved the book. The plot twists were fun and the romances were heart warming. But the narrator was difficult to listen to and I kept having to turn it off. I'll avoid anything she's narrated in the future.

Amazing story but didn't care for the narration.

I love this story. It kept you on your toes and was completely entertaining. I had trouble with the narrator at the beginning. The voice impressions were mediocre and sometimes I had trouble understanding which character was speaking.

Enoyed

A well written, good storyline, but did not care for the way it was narrated.

I got used to the clichés after awhile

The overall story of a dig was moderately interesting, though the dates seemed a bit preposterous. The family melodrama was interesting. Roberts did a good job of intertwining the various "good-guy" families together, but was a bit two-dimensional in describing the "bad-guy families."

Really good listen and story

If you read the other reviews, you will not purchase this book but that would be a shame. One other reviewer said it best that maybe the other people didn't realize the pace of an audible narration. The story is a solid Nora Roberts tale and the narrator had so many voices to depict so she had to get creative. It's a great book. If you like Nora Roberts, you will like this selection.

She does it again

I was very hesitant to buy this because of the negative reviews on the narrator. Either this issue was corrected, or I am more tolerant than others. I do not find the voices strange, nor have I heard bad pauses and such forth. I think it is narrated wonderfully. I am able to get immersed in the story and as usual Nora Roberts has told a wonderful story. If you are a fan of this type of books, then give it a chance.

loved

I love this book like I do all of her books but I was really hooked on this book directly from the very beginning of it in the prolog part of the book. Listen to the whole book through the 4th of July weekend.
