Say something about yourself!
This book is the age old story of a boss lusting after his secretary, but done very well and it kept me interested. The leading lady has been putting up with her overbearing bosses crud for 5 years, all the while planning her future with her fiance who is just about done in dental school...she has a plan, he will finish school, get a great job and she can quit the second job she has been working to make ends meet and then she will get to go back to school....5 years she has been working on this plan and the month before their wedding she finds him with another woman in a compromising situation. Now she has to move on with her life and deal with her boss...a man who has secretly wanted her for 5 years and would have never let her get married...he was just biding his time until she realized she was with an idiot, well his time is now and he won't let her go!
This is technically book 5, and there were some references to past books, but I was able to keep up just fine and enjoy the story. In fact, I just put all the books into my wishlist to gobble up if there is ever a sale on them because they sounded great!
Narrator was great too, all around nice steamy listen!
This is the second book, (read out of order) that I have read in this series. I really liked this one much more. This one is deep, and interesting. It was pretty good, and Yes its worth a credit!
Definitely. I loved the story and characters. The narrator is excellent. The series is fun, with alpha men and women who have backbones and a life of their own, outside what their billionaire sweetie is involved with.
Travis. He raises alpha to a new level sometimes, and sometimes he makes you growl in frustration, but he has a heart of gold and a sweet, mushy center only for Ally.
She doesn't make the common mistake of trying too hard to sound like opposite sex characters. Very often, male narrators try to speak in a very high voice for female characters and female narrators try to make their voices too deep for male characters. She changes her voice just enough to tell who is speaking without going overboard or overacting. She speaks clearly and has the use of proper inflection down to an art.
All those 5 stars for this book and this narrator? Seriously? To begin with Elizabeth Powers is awful! The funny pauses and the slowness of her delivery was enough for me to jump off a cliff to save myself from the frustration. The story was soooo weak and simple that I could imagine my 13 year old writing it. A billionaire who is so in love with his assistant that he never slept with anyone else in the four years she worked for him when all they did was battle at work and that's it? Oh yes and to add to it, the matter of him murdering someone was so a okay by the heroine that it was an obvious OF COURSE YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. Yyyyyyah. Veeeeery believable. Just a ridiculous story, poorly written and with unbelievable characters. I say don't waist your credit or time. Move on to something better.
This was an interesting and exciting read. I love the continuation of characters from the series and the new characters. The sadness in this story brought me to tears but the happiness prevailed.
Still married to the sweetest man alive. Have 3 beautiful grandchildren with one on the way!
OK, I got this book because of the great reviews. Well it turned out to just be okay. I expected it to be just a little better. Even with that being said, I can't say it was bad. It was right in line with the other books I have heard in this series. I must say...the book Heart of the Billionaire was much better. Yes I would listen to the book again. I always go back over each book to keep the stories straight in my head.
Like I said above, its along the same lines as the others.
She does a good job with her reading, but some times that sweet whisper voice she uses for the women kind of gets my nerve. Overall, she is good.
No, not really.
I try to read every book in a series. I prefer to get the complete story.
I enjoyed both equally.
Yes and I did.
I simply love Travis. So far he is my favorite billionaire from the series. The only issue had with the story was Travis having precognition. I thought that was a little far reaching for me.
Very erotic story but it's a bit on the short side. Nicely narrated. Would like more available in this series.
"Another Awesome Read 😀"
Excellent story with a perfect fit within the series. As with the other stories, this one has excellent descriptions of events and lifestyle helping the 'reader' feel they are actually there.
The sexual element is descriptive enough to fit within the storyline and for the reader to enjoy the erotica without but crude or over the top.
Highly recommended, although to fully enjoy, this should be read as part of the series
romance at its best. brilliantly read was clear and dreamy had everything a good romance/saucy book should have. won't disappoint.
