Publisher's summary

An alluring laird....

He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart - until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland.

Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the 16th-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length - but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.

A prisoner in time....

She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side.

Great Scot! Don't miss our other titles in the Highlander series.

Critic reviews

"Phil Gigante's handling of the prose in Moning's clever paranormal romance is smooth and engaging, but it is his character voicings that truly make this recording one to remember." (AudioFile)

Wonderful series

I have just finished the last of the latest Highlander books, and I must say that KMM is an amazing story teller. I enjoy the science, the history, the Myths, and especially the romance! Never thought of myself as a Romance fan, but Karen has got me HOOKED! I strongly recomend ALL 7 and then, the Fae Series!

Excellent story about love in a unusual way

What did you love best about Beyond the Highland Mist?

This story is about love that was hard for the two lovers. It involves time travel which I love stories about and is why I bought the book. Once I got into the book it captured my attention and I had to listen to all of it. The story is about one of the lovers from modern day being thrown through time to find love in the past, that is all I am going to say about the story believe me it is worth having. I loved the fact that I could do everything I needed to do while I listened to it. The author is a best seller. This book is the first highland story in a series of highland stories. They all are worth having.

What did you like best about this story?

That after all the twist and turns love won in the end,

Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante – was your favorite?

Hawk

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they were on horseback together and she realized that she did love him and gave her heart to him

Any additional comments?

This book is worth having and if you love it like I did buy all of them.

AWESOME Book!

What is not to love about any and ALL of Karen Moning's' Highland novels? This one Definitely does not disappoint! Buy it, you'll love it! Especially since it brings in the beginnings of Adam Black. Although I hated him in the beginning (this book), by the time he gets his own book, you'll love him, laugh at his antics and cheer him on. In this book however, you'll be cheering for for Hawk and Adrienne. He's a dominant male, adored by females far and wide who finds his match made in....well, let's just say he finds his match in the strong-willed, yet saucy and funny heroine, Adrienne, who can definitely hold her own against this Highland hottie!

Wonderful

This is a wonderful start to a great historical series. I am looking forward to the rest. Narrators voice for the men is chilling but the women's voices are a little irritating.

This book had a little bit of everything. Romance, mystery, murder, fantasy, everything you could want in a story line. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. Will definitely continue on with this series.

great story

A very good story. Had to fast forward thru the sex scenes, they were too long and repetitive. But otherwise, definitely worth the credit used

Scots Be Damned

I haven't heard a Scottish, kilt wielding tale that didn't draw me in, but the narration could have been better especially for the female voices.
