Welcome to the Point…

There's a difference between a bad boy and a boy who's bad.… Meet Shane Baxter.

Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn't just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he was the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn't care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there's a new player in the game, and she's much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.

Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She's always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con the Point has ever produced.

Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she'd have for a guy like him. But it doesn't take Dovie long to realize…some boys are just better when they're bad.

Dark and Hot!!

This is an erotic, romantic, mystery and slightly dark book. I say slightly dark, only because it is the character Shane aka Bax. There is a bit of violence, but I have seen worse in other books, this one is not to bad.

Bax is the wrong guy, that grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and in all the wrong conditions and it has given him a name on the street. Once he is out of prison, not his first time in trouble with the law or his last, he goes to find revenge and a friend that owes him, what he finds is more trouble and a red head that sparks up more trouble than in the bedroom.

Dovie is the sister to Race, when Race finds her she had not idea she had a brother and he became her night in armor. Dovie is not blind to the hard life of poverty. She has seen it all and is trying everything she can to get out of that life, so when Race make her an offer to give her a better life, she takes it, but her brother leaves her with more questions than answers but to trust a man with a star tat under his eye. When Race disappears and tells her to stay low and expect Bax to save her, she did not except to find love in a man called Bax when she fell in love Shane first. She sees Bax and Shane as the same person, but the shift from a man to monster is her way of keeping it together when he terrifies her.

There is a mystery as to who tried to frame who and Bax has a secret of his own, a brother that works for the law

Love love love this book, is is a walk on the wild side of the dark part of bad put not to much where you lose the characters of the book.

So good!!

100% agree with the author at the beginning of the audio and thinks she accomplished what she aimed for. He's not intentionally bad, just circumstances. Loved this example of how much life can suck for too many of us, but we survive despite it all.

Better When He's Bad

Would you listen to Better When He's Bad again? Why?

Yes, but, only if I had bought the ebook too. Sometimes I like to go back and actually read parts that are more intense. But, that is my preference.

What did you like best about this story?

Sometimes you can’t help yourself who you fall in love with. Bax (Shane Baxter) is a “Bad boy not a boy being bad” he lives a dangerous life and pushes limits.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No but I would have if I didn't have to work.

Any additional comments?

Nothing wrong with a lil Bad

Jay Crownover has done it again. She knows how to do tattoo guys and she knows how to make her readers fall for a bad guy. Already can't wait for Race's Story.

favorite narrators ever!

What made the experience of listening to Better When He's Bad the most enjoyable?

These are seriously the best narrators I have heard on Audible so far. No fuzzy or tinny background noise or grainy recorded voices. They read as if they were speaking or telling the story, it felt very natural, matter a fact. I loved it. Well done.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved both the leads. I related with them both.

Have you listened to any of Mia Barron and Leland King ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I had not heard either of them before, but they blew me away.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It completely sucked me into their world.

It was alright

Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover (Audio Edition)
Narrated by: Mia Barron , Leland King
Welcome to the Point, Book 1

♥ ♥ ♥ This story was a first for me in a couple ways. It was the first time I had read this author, and the first time reading this type of hero. While I thought the writing was very well done, I came to the conclusion I like my "bad boys" a little more on the good side, than being bad to the point of criminal.

Bax was an interesting character, though at times I couldn't understand why he would make certain choices, he did keep true to his character. Dovie seemed a bit too young for me. If she had been older, perhaps I could have accepted this story a bit easier. Their interactions together good and I liked how Bax fell for her. The secondary characters were engaging and I can see how people would be drawn into this world.

In the end, this book, with the whole criminal as the lead role, just wasn't my thing. I couldn't fathom why the characters did what they did at points and at others I just shook my head because I didn't see this story ending well… but I know it's a story so I will just let that go! The plot was decent and the story moved at a good pace.

The narration was pretty good, I think Leland King played the role of Bax really well. Mia Barron’s voice for Dovie took some getting used to for me. In the end I had no problems with her. Both narrators were clear spoken.

This book was highly recommended to me and the writing is good. So, if you like your boys badder than bad… then I bet you would enjoy this book!

Sexy & Intense

Full of suspense, complexity, the internal struggle of wanting what you should stay away from, and plenty of sexy, this story gripped me from the beginning and wouldn't let me go until I knew how it ended. I loved getting to know Bax and Dovie and The Point in this well written book.

“You don’t need anyone to show you how to be good, you’re so much better when you’re bad.”

The narrators did a fantastic job at bringing the characters to life.
