Immortal Danger

For more than a century, Maggie Montgomery has hidden her true nature from the humans around her. But when Lieutenant Sean Canady follows a trail of blood from a drained corpse to the door of her New Orleans boutique, the ethereal beauty realizes the comfortable life she’s made for herself is once again in danger....

Immortal Love

Despite her fears that her secrets are no longer safe, it’s the past that could ultimately be Maggie’s undoing. Sean Canady, a Civil War hero, was the love of her life. Only his memory has kept her from succumbing to her darkest urges all these years. Has the murder now brought him back into her life? Between them, they must find the truth, lest their lives and their souls be lost to the darkness she has fought for so very long.

Somewhat disappointing...

Any additional comments?

This book somewhat disappointed me, the story line felt very familiar. I felt the narrator didn't suet the story and that may of contributed to my feelings about the book. This is not my favorite book by Heather and i won't be continuing with the series :(

When 18 year old Magdalena escapes through a window to be with the man she loves, she will start a chain of events that will cover the next 170+ years of sad abandonment by all that she has ever known... With evil stalking her through time, a little known saying is the answer to all her hopes: True Love will set you free. But Magdalena has given up looking for love, because whenever she thinks she's in love, she loses the one she loves through death. Will Magdalena survive the approaching evil, or will she confront it and let it have her to save the one she has come to care for more than her own existence...

Good narrator - rough book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

After I got through the first half of the book then I started enjoying the mystery and the adventure. The first half is mostly the hero and heroine falling in lust, then love. It seemed to drag and when I skipped several chapters, it really didn't make a difference. The skipping of the chapters helped me finish it. It was ok but...

Would you be willing to try another book from Heather Graham? Why or why not?

I keep hearing that this was really her one of her first works and that the stories get better. I don't think the story was bad, it just dragged. I will try another book by her because she is a best selling author and I want to like her.

What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Tanya makes Maggie come to life. You can hear Maggie's frustration and sadness. She really knows how to make a character come alive.

Was Beneath a Blood Red Moon worth the listening time?

An abridged version would be sufficient.

Any additional comments?

I am no stranger to vampire romance or romance suspense but this story felt forced at some points. Like to make the word count larger just put scenes in that could have ended up on the cutting room floor with no detriment to the story. I really liked the characters and the narrator did a very good job.

pretty good yarn but author lazy with climax/end.

The author did a nice job of developing the plot and increasing tension toward the story climax and then basically says "and they lived happily ever after".

So much good work and it fizzles at the end.

Brings to points in time together.

What made the experience of listening to Beneath a Blood Red Moon the most enjoyable?

The Charactors slip easily between two points in time. I could easily switch between the past and the present with Maggie and Sean. The ending was a little lame.

Slow…

Never could get into the story and tried to stay with it…which is unusual for me with Graham’s books

Narrator almost robotic

I am only a few minutes into this book but had to stop. I should have downloaded a sample first, but it came highly recommended & is of similar genres I like so I just purchased immediately. Big mistake. Going to download it and read it myself instead. The narrators voice sounded like a computer was reading it. I had to stop and listen to make sure it wasn’t. I still don’t know! Lol. No inflection. Felt like I was in a lecture I wasn’t enjoying and had to concentrate deeply at what she was saying. Not enjoyable so not worth my time.

I loved this series in paperback.

I’ve had this series in paperback for years! I loved it. When I saw the audiobooks I was excited! Almost every time I’ve listened to an audiobook (after reading the printed version) it’s let down. The narrator good, but her idea of a “southern” accent usually makes the characters sound slow, or not that smart.
It’s not anything that keeps me from listening to them, I’ve listened to the first two at least 3 times each. It’s nostalgic for me, and I like the story.
