Great Book Under $10

This book is part of a series but can be listened to as a stand alone. The main premise is a bit far fetched-movie star is actually a spy using movie shoots to other countries as cover-but that's why they call it fiction, right? The main female character is on the run from an abusive husband who's also a hit man who found out she had betrayed him to the FBI. She has an adorable son who has the sweetest relationship with the hero-hard to resist a guy who loves your kid. There are quite a number of people after these two both individually and as a couple which makes for fast moving non stop action and lots of explosions! It was nice to see the hero's family again(from previous book) and catch up with them and anticipate whose book will be next. The romance in this is sweet and the h/h have great chemistry and not too graphic sex. If you like romance with a side order of spine tingling suspense and an international cast of bad guys (and some good ones, too) you will enjoy this book.

Nick Podehl was outstanding with the delivery of the story.

Good Story, Great Narration

I was usually save my credits for more expensive books, but I'm glad I got this one, it's a sweet story with lots of emotion, If your looking for hot sex, keep looking, but if you want a satisfying story with a great narrator this is it. I will be looking for more from this author! One thing though, it's a bit unbelievable how much havoc one lady and a kid can wreak on one mans life. I think I would have told her to get lost several times along the way! but if you can suspend belief as easily as I can It's an enjoyable read.

Good story, but great narration

Superb narration. No complaints on that score. As for the story, it's your typical romantic suspense. I'd give the text about 3.5 or 4 stars. It's enjoyable, entertaining, and somewhat heartwarming, even though fairly extreme, with some plot holes.

I figured out the villain's identity easily and quickly. The author makes everything clear. Not much guesswork needed to comprehend the plot or predict what will happen next. No surprises.

I liked the scenes with the Mongomery brothers teaming up to fight the baddies. Happy to see Zach reunited into the clan. Good scenes with their mother, Anna. The SWOT team sniper, Jasmine, from book 1, plays a small role, too.

Decent romantic relationship development. One sex scene, at about 75% into the story. I liked the hero and heroine, but they both carried around too much guilt and regret. Personally, I grow bored with internal rumination, especially when it's focused on past regrets.

Lots of scenes center around the five year old boy, Sam. If you don't like children in the story, this is not for you. Personally, I do like kids, if done well. Sam's dialogue and characterization is fairly believable here, but not quite right.

Some basic swearing, but not very much, and little or no profanity. One sex scene. Some beatings, violence, and bloody murder.

DNF 65%

Wasn’t a fan of the story or the narration. The plot wasn’t bad, but definitely needs work to add believability.

Review on Book

The story starts out very good and grabs the listener. It remains this way until the author begins to close. At that point it becomes very theatrical.

Another good book

By Robin Perino. I knew Zach had to be a good guy! Definitely want more on their dad's past. Glad to see his brothers finally see Zach for what he was and band together. Sam was another brave and adorable kid, all thinks to his mom Jenna.
