He’s on the run and fighting to stay alive long enough to discover whom he can trust - and who betrayed him.
Jenna Walters thought she’d married the perfect man - until she unearthed his terrible secret. Now, desperate to escape his crosshairs, she and her son take refuge in Zach’s secret hideaway. Sparks fly between Zach and Jenna even as danger explodes around them.
From Afghanistan to Turkey to the mountains of Colorado, assassins track them and are closing in. Not only is Zach’s life at stake, but now Jenna and her son are targets in this high-stakes game.

"Perini refreshes romantic suspense...with high-tech armament and high-heat passion." (Publishers Weekly on In Her Sights)
I was usually save my credits for more expensive books, but I'm glad I got this one, it's a sweet story with lots of emotion, If your looking for hot sex, keep looking, but if you want a satisfying story with a great narrator this is it. I will be looking for more from this author! One thing though, it's a bit unbelievable how much havoc one lady and a kid can wreak on one mans life. I think I would have told her to get lost several times along the way! but if you can suspend belief as easily as I can It's an enjoyable read.

The crime part of the story was very well written!
Most in this genre.
It was ok.
Superb narration. No complaints on that score. As for the story, it's your typical romantic suspense. I'd give the text about 3.5 or 4 stars. It's enjoyable, entertaining, and somewhat heartwarming, even though fairly extreme, with some plot holes.
I figured out the villain's identity easily and quickly. The author makes everything clear. Not much guesswork needed to comprehend the plot or predict what will happen next. No surprises.
I liked the scenes with the Mongomery brothers teaming up to fight the baddies. Happy to see Zach reunited into the clan. Good scenes with their mother, Anna. The SWOT team sniper, Jasmine, from book 1, plays a small role, too.
Decent romantic relationship development. One sex scene, at about 75% into the story. I liked the hero and heroine, but they both carried around too much guilt and regret. Personally, I grow bored with internal rumination, especially when it's focused on past regrets.
Lots of scenes center around the five year old boy, Sam. If you don't like children in the story, this is not for you. Personally, I do like kids, if done well. Sam's dialogue and characterization is fairly believable here, but not quite right.
Some basic swearing, but not very much, and little or no profanity. One sex scene. Some beatings, violence, and bloody murder.
The whole story was just too implausible.
I would not be likely to waste a selection.
I could find nothing to recommend this book.
Don't waste your money!
Loved this book. A lot of the lower reviews didn't like it because it wasn't "believable." Really? Do we really have to have a FICTIONAL mystery/romance NOVEL be believable? If I want believable I'll just pop over to the non-fiction. I know a lot of you don't like the "jumping around" but I do. I get tired of just the hero and heroine being on every single page and reading all about their angsty feelings all the time.
I liked the few minutes of Khalid, that murderous creep. And Farzam, that insane creep. The attempt by the two pilots. The time spent with that killer Brad Walters. All this helped to keep me turning pages to see what would happen next.
All the Montgomery's, Zach, Gabe, Seth, Luke, Jazz, Caleb and Anna were fantastic. And I was so happy for John and Anna, too.
Zach and Jenna were an awesome twosome and I thought Sam acted like any normal 5 year old.
So, I'm off to read Gabe's story, Game of Fear. I know I'll like it as much as I did this one.
Oh, and this had just enough sexual tention and sex to make it a really good read.
As to the narrator: Mr. Podehl did a fantastic job. Not once did I cringe when he did a female's voice. I would definitely listen to him again.
This was an impulse purchase that was a nice surprise. It was a typical spy thriller with a little romance thrown in. The story line was good with just enough mystery to keep me interested. Even though the villian was predictable from about 15 minutes into the book, I wanted to continue to listen to find out the motive behind the actions. The performance was good and the 3 consecutive story lines were all interesting. Worth a listen for sure!
cliche's abound in this story!. Story is so predictatble it's not worth going to the end. This is simple a romance novel trying hard to be something else. Use your points or $$$ to buy soemthing else.But- on the good side it is not full of profanity or expilct sex. Nice to be be able to listen soemthing that is not assaulting you with garbage.Soft enough to suggest to older teens.
He shouldn't give up his day job. he needs to work on accents that add to a story not detract. His Arabic accent sounds like a a drunken Russian.
Get rid of all the brothers!
Enjoyable, I think the plot was good, and I liked the narrator, I would recommend getting the series.
Here again a great story with well thought out plot. Loved the narrater, and the fact she used someone else for this second in the series. Sometimes you need the same narrator but with this it works. I liked the first book but this one was even better. I don't see a third??? Hope there is a story for each of the four remaining brothers coming soon.
It would be awesome audio or written
