What do you get when you mix one feisty sprite of a woman with one burly, sexy man and lots of patience, devotion, and peanut butter cups?
Cassidy Hackett knows all about life's hard knocks. After growing up in foster care, her only family is her friend Effie, who sees past Cassie's sarcasm to the heart she shields so carefully.
But now Effie is mated to a cougar shifter, and Cassie feels left behind. When a fateful decision to drown her sorrows one night leaves her broken and scarred, she's almost ready to give up on life.
Grizzly shifter Cash Rochon loves his family and his job. But it feels like he's been searching forever for his mate - that special woman meant only for him.
When he hears about a human recuperating from a terrible accident at a relative's house, he's glad to help out. Little does he know that his greatest wish is about to be answered in a way he never expected.
Cassidy needs to heal inside and out, and it won't be easy. The one thing that keeps her going - not that she would ever admit it - is Cash, who refuses to give up on her.
He's willing to do whatever it takes to coax his sharp-tongued pixie out of her shell - even indulge her junk food habit. Cash wants nothing more than to show her the love she's always needed. But after a lifetime of wearing emotional armor, is Cassie ready to lower her guard?

I read this book first. Im so glad i decided to try this as my first ever audible book. It was even better out loud and had me laughing in placings that made people stare at me like i was crazy. Thank you Moxie for bringing this to audible.
I am a fan of Moxie North's Pacific Northwest Bear series and was a little nervous to listen to this book because Cash and Cassie are my favorite characters and I didn't want to be disappointed if the narrator didn't do justice to them. My fears were groundless as Angela Dawes does an amazing job bringing all the characters in the story to life. I enjoyed every minute and it will definitely be on my list to listen to again.
It was short but very well done compared to a lot of the shifter books out there. Well done !
I really enjoyed this audiobook and would absolutely recommend it. I have listened to it 4 or 5 times already because it is very charming, upbeat, and very easy to listen to while I walk on the treadmill every morning.
Moxie North puts a lot of humor into her stories. I tend to read all of the books from authors who write characters who can laugh at themselves and with their mates. In that way, her books have a lot in common with S E Smith's books or Eve Langlais' books. Humor mixed with love and sexy alpha men.
The way the story is performed caused me to enjoy the story more than when I read the book. The voices make sense for the characters and are lively and fun. Wonderful job.
I don't watch movies, so no idea.
I want the rest of Ms North's PNW books to be brought into Audible so I can buy them too. Great job.

Broken anglo female & her besiet friend end up in a "retreat". Her best friend finds love & happiness with a lion shifter but, the lead female (her best friend) is NOT recoverying from her injuries from an auto accident and her injuryed friend is internally feeling like a 3rd wheel. Seeing her best freind find love & getting ready to have a baby which will start the rest of the couple's life down a different road. But fates give this broken friend, love in the form of a bear shift male soul mate that helps mend he mentally & physically. No diversity of other races, skin tones or ethnic groups. Everyone, human & shifter are anglo.. BUT the story is cute & the lead female character is snarky to cover up her saddness from a hard life. worth a credit/money?? Flip a coin....
