Rule One: Don't Let Him In
When photographer Nick Coltrane saunters into Daisy Parker's office, all she sees is the man who broke her heart nine years ago. Never mind that he wants to hire her as his bodyguard - ah, security specialist - or that her fledgling company desperately needs the cash flow. She'd once broken her own rules, only to watch his sexy self go running for the door. Providing round-the-clock protection for him now is out of the question...right?
Rule Two: Always Be Able To Walk Away
Nick needs Daisy around to keep the hired thugs that are out for his blood from actually getting it. If he can make amends for the way he screwed up nine years ago in the process, then so much the better. Except time has done nothing to dull the memory of how Daisy once rocked his world off its axis and her cocky attitude and mouthwatering curves still have the power to turn his brain to mush. Well, that doesn't mean Nick can't handle living hand-in-glove with the one woman he's been obsessed with for years. Yeah. Sure he can.

"A great combination of romance and humour"
This is not a recent book – a fact made obvious when one character uses a payphone, and the H and h rent a video from a video store. However put these small irritations aside, and this is a pretty decent romance.
The h is a former cop, now running a struggling security firm, and is hired by professional photographer H to act as bodyguard. He just also happens to be her former teenage crush from 9 years before, who declared his love during a passionate night together and then walked out on her saying it didn’t mean anything. And now he is also hiding from her the real reasons why he needs a bodyguard.
The story has some really good banter between the two, which sometimes had me laughing out loud (a little embarrassing when walking the streets of London!) and as a professional bodyguard, it was good to see that the h knows her stuff and performs accordingly. OK, she is sometime a little distracted by the H, but she does manage some pretty kick-*** moves when required. The emotions between the two are great and they mostly avoid having sex in highly inappropriate places at highly inappropriate times, which is another thing that irritates me! There are some great side characters in the story and I love the fact that for once the H is ready to admit his feelings while it is the h who is reluctant to commit. Of course, we know the H is hiding something and that is really going to mess things up….
I do have a few quibbles with the ending. I though the baddie was let off a little too easily by our happy couple, and then this aspect was conveniently wrapped up in the epilogue, and the epilogue was a bit too sugary sweet for my liking, but overall this is a solid enjoyable romance with two very likeable characters.
