I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Firstly, be warned you could lose friends (and sleep) over this listen - it's the sort of book that just absolutely sucks you in and you find yourself growling and snarling at anybody who even attempts to talk to you which would make you have to press the 'pause' button.
This well written passionate love story played on my emotions like no other book I've listened to has - there was hope, happiness, sadness, anger, tension, rage, frustration and ..... finally utter speechless disbelief. It flips backwards and forwards from present day back through a 6 year emotional roller-coaster relationship between two people who become friends and then lovers but both sadly fail to find themselves in the right place at the right time for a lasting relationship. There are lots of strong secondary characters who become involved in some way through this story and they either add or hinder the lovers.
Although you may be fooled into thinking this is YA - that is not the case - there is passion and sex scenes - but they are entwined amongst the backdrop of their emotions for one another.
Worth a credit? I don't know know good this has been for my blood pressure but it's a definite YES if your a romance lover please don't miss this listen - but be warned - have some tissues ready.
For as much as I read and listen you would think by now that I would know how to spell lol. I read at least 5 books a week there are times I have gotten up to 10 in a week.
yes, it brought me back to when I was a teenager and first feel in love.
The true honesty of the situation she kept finding herself in.
The was a truly emotional makes you think kind of book. Lets you understand better what love at first sight can make you think, feel, and even sometimes do. Deals with feelings I am sure a lot of ppl have or will face in their lifetime.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Talk about an emotional whirlwind. This one had my emotions in an uproar. At times I just wanted to knock Lexi in the head with a bat. Lexi has a relationship with Jack for years that is not a healthy one. We are taken from the present to the past and back to the present. Jack has never chosen Lexi but he won’t let her go. Lexi destroys every relationship she has because she can’t let go of Jack. Jack wants Lexi to meet the woman he intends to propose to and convince her that he is ready to commit. Of course Jack starts his same old pattern again and he wants both women. Will Lexi finally let him go or will Jack finally be the man he should be and give Lexi the love she deserves?
Is this one worth a credit? Yes, because I love not knowing which way the story is going. There’s allot of things going on and the story isn’t predictable. I will say I do hope there is another book.
This book could be true. Some men really think that they can treat women like this. A smile a kiss a little love making and women will be in wrapped around there little finger.
Will do anything for books!
I hated the characters and after listening to over 150 audible romance books some I've struggled to finish but this was so frustrating I stopped. I read the reviews for the following books but didn't feel compelled to go on.
My favorite character in this story was Chyna. Love her loyalty to her best friend Lexi. Despite all the idiotic, stupid things that Lexi does with Jack, Chyna is right there with her to pick up the broken pieces.
This book totally pissed me off, in a good way. Wow, talk about an intense relationship. Geez, I was exhausted by the time I was done with this book. Let's just say that I overused plenty of expletives while reading this book. My god...I really hate Jack! Stupid moron! But Lexi, well she lets him walk all over her! Poor thing, the things people do for love. Overall, this was a very enjoyable book even though it did send my blood pressure thru the roof!
I think this book is more of a young adult target. Overall it's good. Going back and forth from present to past gets me a bit lost. I have known women in their younger years who carried the torch for a man and I didn't understand it then or now. It was kind of frustrating to read about Jack and Lexi's relationship. The audio reader was good.
This book almost put me to sleep. Didn't get it and I don't understand such broken people that have so much going for them.
Greg Abbey was about the only reason I finished this awful book
This book really should be labeled book 1. I didn't even know about this one until I finished the third book that is actually labeled book 2.
I absolutely love this book. Spoiler alert, it doesn't end with your typical love conquers all scenario.
Everything was memorable. I read some of the reviews first which some were brutal. Me being the cynic that I am caused me to want to listen to the story myself to draw my own conclusion. I was actually capable of relating to this story in more ways than I can count. I absolutely loved this story. Not certain on if I'll like the 3 sequels that follow but this story was great.
I have not listened to Mr. Abbey before but his voice was captivating. I'm not really certain on what it is (Lie) but I love the sound of a mans voice reading to me even if the lead character is a woman. Especially if the voice has a very masculine tone.
I laughed mostly plus I had a lot of OMG's, you go girl and shut the front door moments in the mix
If you're not always looking for the damsel in distress and gets rescued story then take a listen and draw your on conclusion.
