Publisher's Summary

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

    "Beautiful Story 💝"

I got this one during a recent sale and after listening I have to admit that the great reviews were absolutely correct. This book hits you emotionally especially if you've ever been teased, bullied, or just felt inadequate in some way. This is a story that builds layers of emotions.......it tugs at your heartstrings.....makes you smile.....and leaves you fulfilled. I enjoyed the journey of love with Archer & Bree and didn't want it to end.

Note: FYI- There are descriptive sex scenes and some swearing. For those who only like "clean reads" you might want to give this one a try. Just forward thru those scenes and the story would be just as good.

I highly recommend this book and I am putting on my repeat list.

"MY FAMILY GAVE UP TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME"

What a beautiful, heartbreaking and well written love story this was, I laughed, I cried and I sighed as the H/H fought to stay together through the dramas, through their inner demons and turmoils and whatever else fate through at them. The personal growth and character development was touching to witness. This is a listen whose characters were so likeable I just didn't ever want to say goodbye to them and it's held in a town I'd love to move to.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, great narration and a captivating very romantic and touching plot added up to an absolutely awesome listen that was well worth a credit and I've pre-ordered ALL other books available by this very gifted Author Mia Sheridan.

    "Don't Pass This One Up!!!!!"
What did you love best about Archer's Voice?

Archer's Voice is being added to my fairly short list of favorite books and I definitely see myself reading it again from time to time. It is a sweet yet hot romance between two of the best written characters I've ever read. I love that I didn't find the story predictable. There were several times where I'd think I would know what was going to happen but, for the most part, I was wrong. There is only minimal action with the majority of the book focusing on character devleopment. Instead of relying on sometimes over-the-top scenes of action and danger which are too often present in romance novels, there is a slow brew of family secrets and melodrama.

What did you like best about this story?

The character of Archer is exceptionally well written with the author slowly but surely revealing the many layers that make up this man. Archer and Bree's love story is believable and develops somewhat slowly. This is a nice change of pace from many books that have the couple in bed in the first few chapters.

Have you listened to any of Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is only the second audio book I've listened to that has both a male and female narrator. I really enjoyed Archer and Bree having different voices. Both narrators did a great job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

YES! I'm not typically one to cry easily. I cried several times during this story and found myself feeling happiness, sadness, lonliness, and anger. There was a point where I was so emotional that I was about to stop listening and leave a bad review. Luckily, I didn't let my emotions get the better of me and was able to calm down and see where the author was taking the story.

    Any additional comments?

I'm somewhat confused about Archer's Voice being grouped with erotica. There were definitely some steamy sex scenes but nothing was over-the-top and, frankly, I've read much more graphic descriptions in "typical" romance novels. In fact, not every sex scene is even elaborated on. The steamy scenes are peppered throughout the story so you don't feel as if you're just reading random filler between bouts of sex. Bree and Archer's romance and love was the driving force of the sex, not the other way around.

Archer, because thru all he has been thru he found himself and the meaning of love.

No not really, just the book as a whole.

Where does Archer's Voice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the best book I've listened to yet and I've listened to a lot!

What did you like best about this story?

The story was so well written... There's nothing I would suggest the author doing differently. There was love, humor and heartbreak in one novel. And I didn't have to listen to a trilogy to be satisfied with the story.

What does Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kris and Emily did an amazing job. They both brought Archer's Voice to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both... I cried and laughed with the characters. The truck back firing was so real life. LOL!!!

    "I don't get the hype..."

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the story and I liked Archer as the male lead. However, I don't think the writing is very strong—full of adverbs that I'm surprised an editor hadn't demanded be removed and dialogue that felt slightly left of believable a lot of the time. The author also has a habit of justifying characters actions and thoughts unnecessarily, as if it weren't explained the reader wouldn't believe basic things, which was annoying. The plot was predictable and it was so slow in the beginning that I almost gave up on it several times. It got better when Archer and Bree finally started spending time together. It wasn't a bad story, but I'm just not raving over it like so many other reviewers.

I did not like the narrators on this one, which didn't help in my overall impression of the writing. There was a little too much saccharine sweetness in the delivery of Bree's lines and between the writing style and delivery from the narrators, I rolled my eyes a lot throughout this story.

    "A+ rating! So GOOD!"

    My Review:
    Overall.... 4.75
    Performance... 4.75
    Story.... 4.75

I bought this audiobook several months ago, so when it came up on my audiobook list, I honestly didn't remember what it was about. I was blown away by this story and Archer's character.

As a character, Archer is amazing. He's been mute from the age of 7 when he went to live with his crazy uncle and never left. Now he's 23 and completely withdrawn from the real world. He's never been exposed to ANYTHING. He's mute and the town has always assumed that he was also left mentally damaged from the accident that left him that way. They have no idea who he really is...a beautifully damaged, incredibly smart man who deserves so much more in this world. It isn't until Bree shows up and sees the real him that anyone else takes a second look at him either.

Bree has come to this small town to escape...her nightmares and fears. Six months before she saw her father murdered and was personally attacked. The PTSD leftover from that ordeal is very real, so she's running to try to find a new peace. She ends up in Pelion and discovers so much more than she ever imagined.

This book was so freaking good. It's so hard to imagine what happened to Archer. It very slowly unfolds throughout the story with his flashbacks and it's just as horrifying as you expect it to be. But it's almost more horrifying that this small town, which is really a good town, stood by and had no idea what was happening with Archer. Someone should have seen. Someone should have seen. Someone should have stood up for him. He was only 7 years old. That's horrifying on so many levels...but mostly at the most basic, humane one. How did they let this happen?

Because Archer is an incredible human being. To survive and thrive like he has is such a testament to what an incredible person he is. I love that Bree finds him and manages to free him from the imaginary bonds holding him prisoner in his own house. There's so much hope in this book. But there are also tears...seriously, I was sobbing at the end of this one.

Now, a bit about the audiobook. I've said it before, I love audiobooks, but I prefer to read simply because it's about 3 times faster for me (yes, I'm a fast reader). As a result, when I get into an audiobook like this one, no matter how good it is, I tend to skip over to my kindle and fly through it reading it myself. I tried that with this book and it wasn't near as good. The reason for that is that Archer is mute. In the book his words are signed...that gives it a very different feel from the audiobook where all those words were spoken by the narrators. And the narration on this one is incredible. This is one of those that's done by a duo of male/female narrators based on the chapters which alternate between Bree and Archer's POV. I loved the book and highly recommend the story regardless, but if you have the choice, go buy the audiobook. It was really, really good!
