What a find!

What an interesting world! I was immediately hooked. I've seldom seen a non-religious story regarding angels. The main draw of this book for me though is the relationship between Elena and Raphael. If I didn't love the relationship between them, Raphael would become my new fantasy lover. As it is, he and Elena are such an well suited and passionate couple that I leave them as they are, even in my daydreams. I like the fact that they are both emotionally scarred and have major trust issues, but are willing to work through their problems together. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I have to wait until February for the next installment.

A little dark, but still a very good read...

If you could sum up Archangel's Kiss in three words, what would they be?

Dark, sexy, immortals.

Any additional comments?

I wanted to take a minute to write about the first 2 books in this series because there were mixed reviews while I was trying to decide if I wanted to take the chance on them. I absolutely love Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series and have read many of the books in that series multiple times. After listening to several other series in the same genre and not truly feeling satisfied, I decided to try Nalini's Guild Hunter series as well.

I agree with some of the other reviews stating that this series is a little dark, but the books are interesting and well-written nonetheless. In the first book in this series, Angel's Blood, I didn't feel like the chemistry between the two main characters was developed/described well enough and felt like it ended without satisfaction in some sense. Then I realized that book 2 in the series further developed the story between Raphael and Elena. After finishing the 2nd book, Archangel's Kiss, I feel much better about the series and look forward to listening to the next Guild Hunter book.

I love this series!!

I am so very happy that Nalini Singh has been put on Audible. I really enjoy her books. To me, they are always so well thought out and a total surprise when I get to the end and think I have it all figured out.......but don't.She writes worlds that I wish I were a part of. I am hoping to see her Psy/Changeling series on Audible SOON (PLEASE)!!

Her many accents are seriously on point. I love it. They really make the performance great.

The saga continues!

Just finished book two and man I feel like there should be a spinning hour glass with an over voice that says....will Raphael accept Elliana as she is? How will Elliana cope with her new found immortality? Will the angel community accept her? Find out the answer to these and more in the next episode of Days of our lives!

It was another keep you on the edge of your seat books, there was a great who done it, and we learn more about Ellianas past and Raphael...very good. The ending was a bit rushed in my opinion but the storyline will continue in the next book, which I will listen to shortly.

Pick up the first book, worth a listen for sure!

I am glad I bought the rest of this series.

First let me say the voice of Justine Eyre is perfect for this series she can pull off hard nosed and sultry with the same panache.
The developing relationship does not slow Elena down. Raphael makes a superb match for the hunter we learned to respect in the first book. Their attraction to one another has not dulled. I am enjoying getting to know the other Angels in this series and look forward to seeing them grow.

A Great Story with an Equally Great Preformance

Would you consider the audio edition of Archangel's Kiss to be better than the print version?

It's hard to compare to print, but I have tried to listen to some of my other favorite preternatural romance/dark urban fantasy and they almost always leave me unsatisfied. This one was AWESOME! I re-listened to every book in the series that I had read. I started looking for things to do (like washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, folding laundry, etc) just so I could keep listening to a story I already knew.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are very vibrant and the plot is well balanced between the happening in the world and the happenings in the heroine's heart/life.

Which scene was your favorite?

It's hard to beat the finale, but the final scene in her apartment was pretty compelling. Don't want to ruin anything - if you've read it you definitely know what I'm talking about.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I start yelling at characters (when driving) and pacing incessantly or jumping around the room (at home). I'm pretty sure some of my neighbors think I'm a lunatic after suddenly walking away from my lawn-mower to pace and rant - only about 30 seconds so no men in white coats were involved.

Any additional comments?

One of my favorite series - worth it whether read or heard!

Too much S&M for my taste...

What disappointed you about Archangel's Kiss?

Theres something about bloody violence and cruelty thy killssany possibility of romance for me. Love and romance cannot be believable when the characters are cruel to each other at times.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will get one of the Psy Changeling books. Same author, much better narrator (Angela Dawe) and its an interesting paranormal romance without violence, blood and cruelty.

Would you be willing to try another one of Justine Eyre’s performances?

I did not particularly like Ms. Eyre performance but I would conside a future book narrated by her if it sounds better.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No. I liked this book even less that the first so I'm done with this series. The author has a much better paranormal romance series (Psy/Changeling) that I highly recommend.

Any additional comments?

If you like dark romances and S&M with your love scenes then you will love this book. Othetwise, don't waste your time and credit.
