Jill Shalvis & Karen White are a winning combo!

Would you listen to Animal Magnetism again? Why?

I would definitely listen to this again! Both characters shined as did their supporting cast. I can't gush enough about how fantastic this book was! ANIMAL MAGNETISM is one of my favorite Jill Shalvis' books so far. I loved the setting, the two primary characters, Lilah and Brady, both of them together, the animals, the story - just everything about it!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't pick just one favorite character! I loved Lilah who was a true guardian angel to the animals and such a friend to everyone... but who didn't want to open her own heart. AND Brady, who had erected a seemingly impregnable wall around his heart. Somehow, Lilah got thru... They were great individually and together.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

Karen White's narration was perfection exemplified. She even aced the animal sounds. LOL! Every time the duck quacked, I cracked up. She seamlessly differentiated between the characters and I could always tell who was speaking just from her voice. I have picked up audios just because she has narrated them. Her performances have never disappointed. If you get a chance to listen to this book, go for it. Jill and Karen are a winning combination and, together, they create an experience not to be missed.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A romance guaranteed to leave you with a big smile...

Any additional comments?

Thank goodness, there's more of this series I haven't listened to yet; I'm definitely on it! I would highly recommend this book, indeed this entire series, to anyone who enjoys sexy, contemporary, small-town romances that will leave you with the warm fuzzies for sure!

Brady & Lila's Story

Another great story by the talented Jill Shalvis! It's got the perfect mix of humor, sassiness, love, and a touch of sadness. Can't wait to read the rest in the series!

There's no place like Sunshine, Idaho.

A fun quirky romance with great characters. And for the animal lovers out there, there are lots of them, both funny and heartwarming. This book leaves you with a good feeling at the end. I will be defiantly getting the next one. There is more to this series than Audible has recorded, so if you like this recording and the second, the book with Adam is in print. Also good to read by Jill Shalvis is Smart and Sexy, Strong and Sexy, and Superb and Sexy, but unfortunately they aren't on Audible.

I am closing out the year with just some fun reads that won't get reviewed in my normal fashion. However, I need to say that what people are saying about this series is so very true: Fun, Romantic, and HAWT! This was just an enjoyable listen all around :)

Fun light-hearted romance

I enjoyed the story and characters. Sometimes it was a little heavy handed on the "what is really important in life" message, but the characters were entertaining. I like the humor of the narration.
The reader is to be commended for knowing the correct pronunciation of timbre, which is mispronounced by so many performers. Sometimes the performance was marred by unclear character voicing, but was mostly excellent.

This story grew on me...

In the beginning of this book there were several laugh out loud moments. Then it became predictable. It is a good story but lightweight. I had trouble with the narrator. She was very professional. I can only say that her voice pattern annoyed me. I did adjust to it. But not until the second half. The story just grew on me. The characters became important. It is not a deep book. But it is enjoyable and I believe worth the credit. I think I will purchase the remaining in the series.

So Good!!!!

Loved this book! Needed one where I could fall into all of the characters and this one hit the mark with intensity. Brady is...yummy and desperately in need of a home and love, while Lila is, while broken, everything a woman would like to be..strong, funny, understanding, kind and someone you'd love to be best friends with. Don't miss this one if you're truly a romance freak.

Well written and entertaining

It was a light and entertaining love story.

The characters were all fairly normal people - without a supposedly "intelligent" but actually idiotic heroine. The lead female (Lilah) was kind and actually acted intelligent. I hate that so many women authors write romances obviously meant for women and yet create heroines who are either always doing OMG dumb things and/or acting like total bitches. And yet, despite this, have gorgeous, intelligent men fall in love with pain-in-the-butt, impulsive, and too-stupid-to-live women.

Happily, that was not the case in this book. Although it didn't have a deeply thought provoking plot - the characters were well written and none of them annoyed me. The way the main man's character evolved was really good. I found myself laughing aloud at his interactions with "Twinkles".

The narrator did a really good job with both the male and female voices. I loved the animals in the book and thought the narrator's pet imitations were great! There were steamy love scenes and a tiny bit of drama - but nothing unrealistic, overly dramatic or contrived.

I liked it!

Fun and uncomplicated

Mature characters owning their actions and feelings. What's not to like? Bit of drama, loads of humor, plenty of animals, and likable characters. I’ll be following this series. 👍🏽

Good performance if slightly too breathy at times.

Animal Magnetism

Would you listen to Animal Magnetism again? Why?

I would listen to Animal Magnetism again simply because the narrator did such an outstanding job with the characters. I was most impressed with the animal sounds, they were realistic and really cute!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lilah was my favorite character. Something about the way she dealt with all her mistakes, fears and insecurities. Her love for everyone who needed her struck a chord in me.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

I loved the way she portrayed Lilah and the animals

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but unfortunately could not. We took a road trip I listened to the first half getting to our destination and the second coming home.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this series. It is a well written romance. The characters are solid and believable. The animals are too cute for words. If you love animals and if you love a good romance this is the series for you!
