Heather Reed thought she was making the right choice when she decided to raise her daughter, Angel, on her own. But three years later, Heather realizes she needs help. Her career as an actress is faltering, and Angel’s more than she can handle alone. It’s time to track down Angel’s father…only problem is, he doesn’t know Angel exists.
Heather’s search leads her to Whispering Wind, Wyoming. If Todd Winston is dismayed to see his old girlfriend show up in town, he’s shocked when he looks into the angelic eyes of the little girl who is clearly his daughter. Todd flatly refuses to open his life to Angel. Heather flatly refuses to leave town until she finds out why. Amazingly, they discover that through compromise and understanding lies the road straight to family.

I love books! Audiobooks take stories to the next level. I'm obsessed with Audible and will try to rate all of my books. Happy Listening! ;)
I can't recommend this book. As a mother, my children are my number one priority. You reject them and I'm out of there faster than you can say bye. Heather had a baby and never told Todd. When the baby is 3 years old she feels overwhelmed and decides to look for the baby daddy. That's when my issues started with this story. Your child is your responsibility. How can that character even consider dropping the baby with her father just so she can have an easier life and pursue acting. That's selfish. Then Heather arrives at Whispering Wind and Todd rejects the kid over and over again. Even after the paternity test he still said he didn't want custody only wanted to pay child support and Heather stayed there and insisted?!?! And even through that she had sex with him?!?! OMG! That character has no pride and doesn't really value her own daughter. I don't get it. If Todd didn't want to interact with his daughter then Heather needed to move on, get the child support and hire a nanny or sitter and continue her life trying to be the best mom. I know that the author's justification is that Todd had a past experience that made him be afraid to be near kids but why not simply say it or request to be accompanied by the mother when e interacted with his own daughter.
I've read and enjoyed other "secret baby" stories but in all of the others the heroes were always willing and happy to spend time with their kids. Their issues would only be with the mother. Although I really disliked this story I must say that the narration was very good. Maybe that's why I finished it.
I enjoyed this book so much. The storyline was great although predictable at times. It seems sort of strange to have this big production studio in the country with these rich folks walking around. BUT it was still a great read.
Angel has to be my favorite character. She's this little innocent girl that everyone falls in love with and the narratior's voice matched this energeic little girl so well.
When the mother left Angel with her dad with no warning. It was great to hear him fall right into daddy mode like he's been parenting forever.
No extreme emotions. Such a delightful PG13 book.
Angel Mine was a very pleasant enjoyable listen. Christine Traister did an admirable narration that kept me engaged and I am certain it added to the story in general.
This is the story of Heather who arrives in a small town in Wyoming to introduce her daughter to her Daddy. Unsuspecting Todd is taken completely by surprise. Because of an incident in his childhood when he had been watching his sister, Todd is wary of children and doesn't see himself as father material. Heather and the inimitable three year old Angel, set about changing attitudes and beliefs.
There is also a small cast of minor characters that flesh out the book and give it a warm, small town, family appeal. It is pretty much a typical Sherryl Woods story that I enjoy.

"Angel Mine" by Sherryl Woods was a wonderful contemporary romance novel that was the first in this 'A Whispering Wind' series. This was indeed a interesting story of how the girl gets the guy or was the guy finally get the girl? This author gives the reader a well written spin on a true romantic love between Heather Reed and Todd Winston. With Heather being a single parent would she be able to convince the father of Angel, her dad Todd that she needed help in raising her? What I thought was somewhat amusing was that Todd had no idea that he even had a child and just what had happened that he seemed to panic after finding out he had a child? Yes, this little girl looked just like him. I found this read a long read but in the end it gave the reader a wonderful ending. The characters were all simply off the chart good, well developed, likable, and so very colorful making the read an captivating one. I liked the way this author was able to share facts about this close knitted community that were a bit eccentric from Whispering Wind, Wyoming but all in all making this a novel that was fast paced and entertaining that kept you reading till the end. You will find yourself smiling as you are reading through this good read. Now, how these two were able to rekindle their love, I will just say you must pick up the good read "Angel Mine" to see how this author will bring it all out to you.
So, if you are looking for a good story of family and community with some romance added in, you have come to the right place for a heartwarming novel "Angel Mine" will give it all to you. Would I recommend? YES!
Yes, since the narrator was pretty good.
I guess to After Tex, the previous book, but I like After Tex better, I liked Todd better in After Tex, he was more compassionate. He was a jerk most of the book in Angel Mine.
Characters' personalities and verbal expressions.
It was a pretty good read, it had it's good and bad points, but the ending was great!
I found myself totally engrossed with story line. hard to stop listening to on my sandisk. Narrator does a great job with all characters, I found myself laughing at times.
Angel, you couldnt help falling in love with the child.
Narrator did a great job with all characters and was easy to listen too.
Wife to sometimes neglected husband (due to listening to audiobooks) and mother to adult children. I am a relatively recent avid reader/listener, only really starting to read for pleasure a few years ago but now am thoroughly addicted.
This was a nice listen but didn't really do it for me. I typically enjoy historical, paranormal romances so this was not my typical purchase. It was a sweet, okay story.
This great book is a follow up to a novel by the same author named 'After Tex' which is also a really excellent book.
This story is sweet and fun and brings in a bunch of good characters from the earlier mentioned book. All are well developed with interesting personalities and stories. All contribute to the main story line which centers around a precocious 3 year old named Angel and her parents.
Great story and great finish.
"secrets always come out"
it's a good romantic story of love lost and found with a few surprises along the way
so far the narrator makes each 'person' in the books very individual and believable
