Maksim Kirov is a mobster who gets what he wants, both at his posh gentleman's club in Hell's Kitchen and in the bedroom. Sexy, dangerous, and obsessed with control, he's risen through the ranks to become a highly respected leader in the tight-knit Tarasov crime syndicate. He rules with an iron fist...until he meets Sydney Martin.
The Australian-born Sydney is determined to refuse Maks's advances, despite their electrifying chemistry. The owner of a neighboring nightclub, Sydney rules her own domain. But when a deal with a Mexican drug cartel goes terribly wrong, she has no choice but to turn to Maksim and the Tarasov organization for protection. Could giving in to their intense attraction be what saves both Maks and Sydney? Or will their all-consuming passion - and her shocking secret - destroy their lives?
In the hot and scandalous third installment of the Wanted Men series, lust and loyalty clash in New York's mob underworld.

I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!
This is a very popular and highly rated series about Russian mobsters. I've listened to three of the books and cannot understand the popularity. It's a matter of taste, I suppose.
I just have to roll my eyes and say 'really' when someone writes in a review that a fiction book was not realistic...come on now 'really'
This book captivated me at the epilog. I couldn't stop listening. Russian
adonis 'Maksim' will steal your heart and melt your panties.
Scott Schumaker's Russian accent and performance is the reason for the panty melting :) It would have been nice to have had a female perform for the female parts... but I was so into Scott's Russian performance it wasn't that big of deal.
If you go to Nancy Haviland's website you will see pictures and associations of all the Russian adonis' and their beautiful ladies.
This book is absolutely worth a credit but at the price of $7.34 I bought it and saved my credit.
This is a book I will listen to over and over again and again.
Say something about yourself!
This series is full of action, romance, great storyline and character build up.
Narrator does an awesome job. His female voices are getting better and better.
I have a love hate feeling for Mak.
I love mostly everything about the man except his whore status and his club. I understand his demons and why he put up those walls. He has a fear of rejection that keeps him from being able to accept love and a real relationship. I liked everything about this book except where I got really mad at him for what he thought he had to do “but didn’t” after he almost hurt Vasily. This part of his story is the only reason I made this a 4.5 star and not a 5.
Mak is such a wonderful man inside, he’s got a big heart, great with children and very protective. His confessions to Sidney about his feelings and struggles are so emotional you just hurt for the man. His paintings kinda put me off a little but I enjoyed seeing his POV on them and it made me understand how he saw himself and softened my feelings about them.
The laugh out loud moments like when he was confused about the Toy Story reference with Andrew was so cute. I enjoyed seeing Mak overcome the hurt and pain and find that sweet soul of his again. Sidney was a wonderful mom, and the perfect mate for Mak. I like how she had realistic doubts about Mak as any women would, and let him know. The proposal was perfect and so Mak.
Other characters… Nancy Haviland puts in the POV of the other characters in every book as the series goes. This helps us get to know the characters and want more. It also keeps every book entertaining and not boring. Vasily and Eva are so cute together. These heros are alike but different.. Micha has also caught my attention. He has that strong Alpha warrior status with a sweet side and low key personal life. The more I hear about him the more I like him.
Alek is our next hero..I didn’t really care to much about his story until now! He is such a calm sweet hero that I liked seeing his Alpha status come out and can’t wait to see it in the next book. Understanding his complete fear from what happened to his cousins family. I’m glad he has stayed loyal to Sacha and can’t wait for their happy ending. The series all together so far is a 10 star. Great Job
I love the first 3 want to listen to the next waiting on pins I have no time to sit and read b7t I might have to already purchased 4th book
I would have to say that of the 3 books this one had the most arrogant hero. But, good grief, you couldn’t help but love him. Maksim was just so awesome. His idea about sex was a little off but I could certainly understand, considering his childhood.
I really liked Sydney, and I could see why she ran away at 17. She had come a long way since then. At first I thought she was a little selfish in not getting in touch with them but when they had her declared dead after 3 years I figured they weren’t too worried.
The one thing I liked about this book was that Sydney never had a TSTL moment, like Eva and Nika did in the other two books. Which happens way too often in books.
I got the impression that sex for Maxsim was going to be different so I know there was sex in this book but I just skimmed by it, which I never do. Once the word “dominant and submissive” was used by him I knew I wouldn’t like the sex between him and Sydney. But I loved the rest of the book.
Because it makes me crazy that every single romance has one thing in common, from now on, I’m going to mention the heroine biting her lip. Worrying her lip. Chewing at her lip or nibbling at her lip, or doing whatever to her lip. She bit her lip 4 or 5 times.
As to the narrator: Scott Schumaker did an excellent job on the different voices and accents for the men but he was just OK with Sydney's voice. Sometimes when he spoke as her he was fine but the next time he did her he kinda' sucked. He can only get better with time so I'll continue to listen to him.
Wow the is my favorite of the series so far! Loved this story. Awesome characters and character development.
The hero Maksim is full of sexy charisma. Loved him and his back story was disturbing but intriguing. The heroine Sydney was smart, witty, beautiful and full of spunk. Loved her too. And she didn't have any TSTL moments! It was great! Chemistry and witty banter between the two was great, and totally genuine. There are a couple of really great hot and steamy sex scenes. And the best bonus is this book is NOT full of angst at all!
The story line and plot were fantastic. So engaging, never a dull moment. The story line flowed very nicely and was believable. No filler nonsense at all is such a treat. There is a lot of great dialogue throughout the entire book.
I highly recommend this entire series! Excellent read/listen for sure!
I'm addicted to romance novels. I specifically like dark, alpha, arrogant, dominant, over the top, aggressive, jealous male characters.
I like the book as a whole. It was fun to read. The Italian accents were hypnotic and pleasant to listen to.
"I really enjoyed this book"
The characters in this book are fleshed out in such a way that they really engage with the reader. You find yourself thinking about them as friends though the Australian accent was grating.
I enjoyed the whole story. It follows on from the previous books and gives you a feeling of continuity. You find yourself wanting to know what happens next. It is very well set out.
The scenes between Tegan and Lorenzo at the hospital and at her apartment. They have a real authenticity to them.
It made me both laugh and cry. Because the characters are well drawn and continue through the series you do form an emotional attachment to them.
I am now eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. So many stories needing to be taken further.
