She never expected to marry....

Annabel was about to take the veil to become a nun, when her mother suddenly arrived at the abbey to take her home...so that she can marry the Scottish laird who is betrothed to her runaway sister! She knows nothing about being a wife, nothing about how to run a household, and definitely nothing about the marriage bed.

He never expected to fall in love....

From the moment Ross MacKay sets eyes on Annabel, he is taken with his shy, sweet bride...and the fact that she's blessed with lush curves only makes him utter his own prayers of thanks. But when an enemy endangers her life, he'll move the Highlands themselves to save her. For though Annabel's not the bride he planned for, she's the only woman he desires....

Delightful & witty

The overall story was quite entertaining, the heroine was sweet and funny. It is definitely worth credit and I would look to other books by the author. The narrator was quite good as well.

Very enjoyable!

I’m thrilled to have found a writer whose story and dialogue aren’t glaringly modern. I’m on to the next books in this series.

A lot of fun without much tension

This was a fun book to listen to. The narrator was well spoken and did a nice job with all of the characters. She spoke clear and concise and was really good with all the accents

The story was fun and pulled me right into the plot from the first chapter. All the characters were well fleshed out and likable or in some cases unlikable but there was no real tension between the heroine and hero, they were just there. Even though the plot was good and built a little tension with a slight mystery bent the sexual connection was just .....Meh. I never felt a real connection between Annabelle and Ross, they were just thrown together and happen to stick.

It's a good story just not a great one. I think this would be a great book for people who like a light romance.

Funny and well done

I loved this book. The characters are entertaining and well developed. Ms Sands is one of the best authors of Romantic novels.

Great story with a wonderful narrator!

Adventure, action, suspense and romance! I enjoyed this story and even laughed at the dry humour.

In my Repeated Tittle List

I love this audiobbook. it's sweet and adorable. if I can't find anything specific I'm in the mood to hear, or just need a break from reality, this is one of my very few escapist novels. I cannot say how many times I've listened to it. Mary Jane Wells is one of, if not, my favorite narrator.
The book is sweet, though you do know exactly what they're doing on their "not bedding bed." It's almost a "how to" handbook in that way. Ross is amazing. His men, especially the old ones are hysterical. They also know how to insult someone while making it sound like they're not.
The only thing which kind of annoyed me was that the story was a span of one week or maybe ten days. The entire series is like that. However, the rest all have murders and such, all solved within days, and couple already married, and madly in love. This is the same but no murders. Different narrator as well. So, I only kept this one.
I'll definitely keep rereading this if I don't want something too heavy, or trying to avoid humans.

Wonderful

I love the story, but the narrator made the book come alive. The characters are great, and the story flows.

So Adorably Sweet!

This book is such a sweet and tender Highland romance. If you enjoy Cinderella type stories then you will enjoy this one. This book was romantic, funny and because it had a bit of mystery kept my interest throughout. It's really hard not to like this book.

The narrator was wonderful. She did a fantastic job with all the voices and made the listen fast and enjoyable.

This one is too sweet not to give it a listen.

Very Good

The heroine is smart, sassy and funny. She does get into several predicaments. Mary Jane Wells does a good job narrating this story. Although I've never heard anyone say "played" for Plaid. Definitely worth a credit for a fun listen. 😁
