For many of Cameron Wolfe's 33 years, he's resisted the rage his drunken father's genes passed on to him. Tired and worried for the safety of those around him, he stands on the edge of a remote lake and puts a gun to his head. Jags, his psychic and empathic stepbrother, thwarts Cam's plans for self-destruction. And in an effort to convince Cam he's not a monster who deserves a bullet to the head, Jags implores Maggie for help.
Only a freshman in high school, Maggie Stewart was brutally gang-raped by members of a rival football team. Determined to keep the attack out of the media and away from her father's campaign for mayor, she refused to press charges or even reveal the names of her attackers.
She is unable to get close to or trust a man and spends the next decade in denial, living the wild life, daring life to throw more trouble her way. Then she meets Cam.
Has she finally met her match?

I enjoyed this book. I was a little confused at first because this book feels a little "all over the place" it's very jumpy but after a few chapters I was on board.
The story jumps around from all the different character's POV so you get so much more that just the main story. The story line was really good and very fast paced. We get a lot from the secondary characters and I love side stories in a book!
Most of the characters were dark and troubled. My only problem with the main characters is that I had a hard time feeling the "pull" at first, once they were together it was totally there but when they had only met twice and she was just trying to sleep with him even though she didn't seem to really like him that much and he was just plain grumpy and mean to her, they just didn't seem to like each other enough for the instant love feeling that followed (for him at least).
I did really like the special ability that Jags has and I'd love to get more info on that. I hope that will be in book 2. I loved that Cam took such good care of Gramps & that Maggie's dad stepped up!!! Those two things just make those characters more real to me :)
The narration was not my favorite. His voice was good, and the reading was good too but it was SO slow. I had to speed up the narration to X1.25 and then it was perfect (I have only sped up narration once before so this isn't normal for me).
All in all this is a great start to the series and I will definitely read book 2.
***Given to me in exchange for an honest review!
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
Fantastic Fabulous Story!!!
I cant compare it, its kinda dark, but romantic, and beautiful too...I know strange combo...but it all equals FABULOUS!!!!
He is sexy...I swear...I could listen to him forever!!!!
Yes it was, and it surprised me...I wasn't expecting this story...and I was captivated..even if all 3 brothers are a little bit psycho! lol

I LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This is a story about many characters, all a little unique, and they all are very interesting....Cam is really disturbed, but actually a great guy, he takes care of his gramps who is suffering from dementia and has 2 brothers....now Jag is really interesting..he can read people, there minds, emotions, intentions, aura's and is a bit of character...then we have AJ, who is kinda a gigolo....and doesn't really have that much respect for women....These are the Wolfe Brothers!
Jag, has a vision about Maggie, and asks his brother Cam to teach her how to hike, to keep her safe...in his vision he sees her getting hurt with a little girl and wants to help her avoid getting gravely injured....Also, he wants to set Cam up with a lady, thinking it would help him...Cam is very intense, and quite rude really in the beginning...he agrees and takes Maggie on a 2 day hike...he ends up falling for her...well Maggie has a past...a past where she was really hurt...and when Cam finds out...he will stop at nothing to help avenge her, even though she does not want him to...
All 3 of these brothers are a tad crazy, but you cant help but like them...and this story was fantastic! The narration is really good, and I am on to #2 with the generosity of this author....
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES..ITS A LOVE STORY,MYSTERY WITH A TWIST AND A LOT FOR SURPRISES! Just add it to your cart now and spend the credit..you will not be disappointed!!!

"Just the beginning" I thought this book would be different but I had no idea how much.
Cam was my favorite character. He really tried to do his best all around, especially with Maggie.
This is my first book narrated by Ian Murray, and I did enjoy his voices - even females. I will look for more of his work.
I wanted to hear the entire story in one sitting, however I had to sleep.
Please buy the Series, you will not be disappointed. I had to know what happened to each character. I've already contacted my book buddy and told her she must buy this series.
No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
Cameron Wolfe is an angry man, perhaps it began when he had to kill his abusive father. Since then the only feeling he feels is rage. He has learned how to control it, how to tamp it down but it is always there.
Maggie is a strong woman with a gut wrenching past incident. When she was in high school she was assaulted by four players from an opposing football team. But she hasn't told anyone but her best friend about the attack and she isn't going to start with this Cameron.
Maggie has hired him as a wilderness guide for a few days. He teaches her about hiking, the outdoors and other stuff like that.
Although they sleep in separate tents during this period, more than once Cameron has woken up from a horrific dream that seems all too real. Maggie hear's the commotion and tries to wake him up, to help him. Instead she almost gets herself killed by Cameron rage.
They finally end up sleeping together, but that is it – sleeping.
I don't think that I can share anything else without spoiling. This book is filled with twists and turns and a magnificent way of understanding the assault even though it is been many years since the attack. Will she opened up to Cameron? How will he react if she does?
This is an excellent book for one who reads thrillers, romance and mystery. There is so much packed in and yet I cannot wait for the next in the series. Exciting, riveting and just enough to pull at your heartstrings.
The narrator is absolutely great. Ian Murray is able to capture the emotion and sentiment behind each character. There is nothing distracting about his performance of the female characters then there is the male characters. This is definitely worth an above average rating.
Although I received this book in exchange for my review which includes thoughts and opinions, I would have purchased it with a credit out right given what I know now. This is the excellent beginning to a new series and I cannot wait until the next one comes out. I will be looking for it.
Please take a moment and look under this review to select yes, if you think my review was helpful. Thank you.
The moment when Cam realizes he can't live without Maggie.
I was moved many times by this listen. I was really moved about how Jags wanted to return the love to Cam. I was moved by the ending.
This was an awesome listen. Thank you for sharing with me. I am looking forward to listening to the next book.

I am addicted to audiobooks. It makes my 1 hour (each way) commute go by without me becoming an agressive driver. lol
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I thought this book was extremely intense. Lita did an excellent job of creating the characters and the story. I fell in love with Cam and Maggie's relationship, however, at one point I didn't think it was healthy. I couldn't figure out how Lita was going to make it into a good relationship, but she did in the end. She wrapped it up just like a beautiful present. I couldn't stop listening to this story. The narrator did an excellent job of individualizing each character. Looking forward to the next story by Lita Stone.
When I first started reading it took me awhile to get into because of the introduction of all the different characters, however once I got past that the story was right on. All the different characters play an important role in the story therefore you have to get to know them. I am now awaiting the next book. It should be great.

I really enjoyed the reading. The story also pulled me in to want to follow through and sre how the character development continues.... excited to start the 2nd one.
I received this audio book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I loved this book. It is very fast paced, so if you blink you will miss something. If you are confused, go back and listen again. This book is exciting and a little strange, a little paranormal (powers) and a lot suspense / thriller, and even a little romance!
Cameron Wolfe is a troubled man from a strange family. His brother Jags has visions. Then we meet Maggie - she too has a troubled past. As we go thru the story and the past unfolds, the excitement starts to build. This is a well written story, that captured my interest from the very beginning and kept me at my desk listening to it to the end.
The author, Lita Stone did an excellent job writing this book. She captured the essence of the characters and add danger to the equation too. The narrator, Ian Murray did a fine job delivering this story to us. It took me a bit to warm up to he male narration as I prefer female narrators, but he did good! All in all, the book was very exciting and I spent my 4th of July weekend reading this book! It was more exciting to me than the fireworks were.

This is definitely my kind of listen. I love romantic suspense, and this book is full of it. The interaction and banter between the brothers I found to be entertaining and full of love. The love story between Cam and Maggie grew on me as the story progressed, of course routing that Cam would win Maggie over, despite all obstacles of their pasts. And love the background stories of Jags and AJ. The narrator had a great voice, my first time listening to him. It has set up for the rest of the trilogy which I am looking forward to.
