Nicholas Harris is a professional badass. Ex-Army Ranger, former personal security for the one and only Valentine Roth, mercenary, assassin, pilot, and my lover. After Roth and Kyrie holed up in their island fortress estate in the Caribbean, Nick started a private security contracting company: Alpha One Security. He hired the best of the best, the scariest, nastiest, toughest - and sexiest - security experts in the business.
And now he has the mission of a lifetime: the three-year-old daughter of two A-list celebrities has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. The twist? The mercenary and Russian mafioso who snatched the sweet, innocent little girl is a vicious, evil, sadistic thug with a grudge against Nick.
And the fallout from this mission will be jet fuel on the flames of that grudge, pulling everyone around Nick into the vortex of violence and vengeance. Good thing we have the seven deadliest and most badass men on the planet on our team.
And oh yeah, there's little ol' me:
Layla Campari, mercenary-in-training.

I enjoyed this story. It was pretty short, especially because it ended at about 3.5 hours, the rest of it was a "bonus story". I was pretty confused by the bonus because I had no idea who the characters were and didn't know what was going on. I guess I assumed when I finished the book and I heard "Bonus Scene" that it meant was getting a little more about Nick & Layla...Nope.
I liked Nick & Layla, they were a great couple! He is the dominant, protector type with a big sex drive. She is kinda a bad ass who might be compliant in the bedroom but that is about the only time. She won't be sidelined, especially when it comes to work and her sex drive might be even higher than his ;) The sex was fun and plenty. I just wish this story was longer. I wanted more on these two for sure.
I enjoyed the narration too.
The Logger's Daughter
Loved the portion that is read but very much dislike having sections of a book that are skipped over, so no, I would not recommend it.
I like Nick best, because he's the alpha male and very hot.
This was not one of my favorite narration jobs but acceptable for the most part.
yes but as already stated, if the entire book was read it would have been more worth the money spent.
Just as the story gets interesting it is over. Then the last chapter is off to another book I only realized as I had read one of the series and never another. Too bad, the story line had potential.
Say something about yourself!
This was a 4 hour book with 1 hour of actual story.
That one hour was a 5 stay, full of action and great heros.
The rest of the book was stupid. All sex, the heroine was a slut and admitted it. I felt no love between the two, just sex. The girls talk like they are men, and I hate that. I cannot stand a woman to try and act like a man. Sorry but this was zero stars for me.
